Today, a similar action is taking place in the United States, where many monuments to malicious exploiters and slave owners have already fallen under the distribution. In particular, one of the first to be demolished was the monument to Robert Lee, the great American commander, commander of the North Virginia Army and Commander-in-Chief of the Confederate Army.
One monument to the general stood in Baltimore (Maryland), the second is still standing in Richmond, Virginia.
