According to CBS New York, a patient in one of the city clinics, who completely lost his sight in 1997, suddenly regained his sight. Doctors consider it a miracle.

Kevin Coughlin of Murray Hill went blind almost 20 years ago as a result of a serious optic nerve disorder. He was 36 then. "It seemed like I was seeing a very thick, impenetrable fog," says the 55-year-old man.

But three years ago, he began to see shadows. “In August 2013, I suddenly saw sunlight reflected in a drugstore window. After 16 years of blindness, it was a miracle,”admits Kevin. Last May, Coughlin first saw his guide dog, a one and a half year old black Labrador named Elias.

Now the man walks with a confident step. Still, because 70% of his vision returned to him. Moreover, every day it improves more and more. “To see what the city has become after 20 years - all these buildings, the Central Station is just incredible,” Kevin rejoices. At the same time, the man says that the loss of vision opened his eyes to the suffering of other people, deprived of the happiness of seeing the world around him.
