New documents proving that the supervisory authorities knew about the death of Dyatlov's tourist group in the Northern Urals in 1959 a month before the discovery of the bodies will be presented at a conference in Yekaterinburg on February 2, said Yuri Kuntsevich, head of the Dyatlov group's memory fund.
A tourist group led by Igor Dyatlov died at a pass in the Northern Urals in the winter of 1959 under circumstances that have not yet been clarified. The versions of the death of tourists have exceeded a hundred - from an accident to paranormal phenomena and tests of military equipment.
According to Kuntsevich, the document, which will be presented at the conference in memory of the Igor Dyatlov group, sheds light on why a criminal case on the death of tourists was opened on February 6, although the search for the group began only on February 20.
“A document has been found that confirms that the prosecutor’s office knew about the death of the group before they started looking for it.
This means that they performed some actions at the pass. That is, what the search engines saw is, in fact, a dramatization. There were such facts that someone was turning the corpses over”.
According to him, among the documents there is also a note from the then prosecutor of Ivdel, Vasily Tempalov, to his assistant, dated February 15, 1959, in which he says that he is going to Sverdlovsk to investigate the case.
“Handwriting examinations have already been carried out, everything coincided. They were investigated by our experts and Moscow experts. It has been proven that the prosecutor of Ivdel wrote this, wrote to his assistant Korotaev. We have heard all the names, they participated in the investigation. This changes a lot,”said Kuntsevich.
