As residents of the village say, the beast can kill and not eat about a hundred rabbits per night
Farmers in Vinzili village sound the alarm: an unknown animal kills dozens of rabbits and chickens, leaving dead carcasses in the courtyard. Locals are at a loss to guess: is this the case of stray dogs, wild animals or the mythical Chupacabra? The village administration is sure that stray dogs may be the culprit. But not all local residents agree with this. On Thursday, September 21, Vinzili farmers turned to law enforcement to investigate the situation. They complain of colossal losses. In one night, the merciless beast strangles and tears to pieces up to a hundred animals.
- Farmers have been suffering from attacks by unknown animals for the second month already. Basically, these animals strangle rabbits, but they never ate a single one,”says Elena Kungurova, a resident of Vinzili village. - To get the rabbits, an unknown animal tears the cages and the netting to shreds. These creatures come to the same courtyard more than once. People are in a panic! If animals are destroyed, people will get there. Evenings and nights are scary to go out even to your yard. And children in the evenings return from school on foot. The streets are not lit. For the second year we have been fed with promises that the street lighting will work next month. People sit at night with guns in the yards, set traps, cameras and alarms with motion sensors.
According to zoologists, ordinary dogs don't kill for the sake of killing. And the beast leaves the livestock uneaten.
A resident of Vinzili Elena Kungurova excludes the idea that ordinary dogs could have done this. Although, according to the inhabitants of the village, there were eyewitnesses to the actions of unknown animals. In appearance they are very similar to dogs, they even make the same sounds. During the mass murder of livestock, it is as if they even experience pleasure.
- The last time these animals came was the day before yesterday in the courtyard of our fellow villagers. As I was told, they did everything in front of the owners of the courtyard, not even paying attention to them. So carried away by the process, - said Elena. - Those who saw, say that they are dogs. But I'm sure not. This behavior is not like a dog. Everything was done quietly, there was no barking. When the animals came to our yard, my dog even fought with one of them and was terrified of him. And the beast looked like a small dog.
We showed the photo from the scene of the massacres to the zoologist. According to the expert, apex predators are operating in Vinzil. It might be a wolverine. Let us remind you that a similar incident occurred in June within the boundaries of Tyumen. The predator's actions were similar to those that have been committed by unknown animals in Vinzili in recent months. The situation was commented on by the professor of the Department of Zoology of Tyumen State University Sergey Gashev.

- I still have the impression that these are not dogs, although they may well be, according to eyewitnesses. This behavior is not typical for dogs when many animals are killed, and almost everything is thrown uneaten. This is a characteristic feature of superpredators - felines, mustelids, to which the wolverine belongs, - explains Sergey Gashev. “In the Roshchino area, two years ago, we saw footprints in the beds, and the police brought us wool. It was a wolverine. In this case, artifacts are not enough for a 100% conclusion. It also bothers me that some eyewitnesses describe small animals. The wolverine is still larger, for example, the badger.

as the zoologist said, the wolverine lives in our area. True, in more northern regions and during winter migrations. In recent years, many cases of northern species penetration in winter to the south than usual have been recorded: these are arctic fox, sable and a number of birds. It is these distant migrations that lead to the fact that the animals do not return back, but remain for the summer.
- Naturally, their behavior deviates from the norm. If the wolverine usually follows herds of ungulates, feeding on young or weakened animals, then in the absence of them it can bully. In the taiga, it eats game in traps, for example. Moreover, it is distinguished by arrogance and remarkable strength. This is what allows her to tear the chain-link or gnaw through the boards. In Utyashevo, they unfolded iron sheets! In nature, she has no natural enemies, and therefore she is practically not afraid of humans. And no one at all, - summed up Sergey Gashev.
In the meantime, residents of Vinzili village are making a collective complaint, as many have suffered losses. They will turn to the State Hunting Department for help.
