As a rule, horror lives where people are extremely rare. Whether this is due to the fact that paranormal activity “does not like” busy streets and crowded places, no one knows for sure. But the fact is that unusual phenomena more often occur in abandoned houses, deep underground and high in the mountains.

Ancient morgue

Previously, the complex of buildings housed the main city morgue, which has been operating for more than half a century. In 2013, due to the dilapidation of the buildings, the morgue moved to a new building on the outskirts of the city. Used for many years as a repository for the bodies of the deceased, buildings are characterized by their heavy energy. Stalkers and extreme lovers who visit the abandoned morgue talk about the headache experienced in this place, attacks of gratuitous panic and hallucinations. Now the old buildings house a forensic medicine center.

Japanese road

Not far from Almaty, in the area of HPP-2, there is a dirt road, along which there are adits going deep into the mountains. According to rumors, these adits were built by Japanese prisoners of war in the USSR. The tunnels themselves were built to service the pipeline running under the mountain from the BAO to the HPP cascade. According to rumors, some prisoners of war died from diseases during construction, and their remains were walled up somewhere in adits. In any case, tourists passing along the mountain road sometimes heard strange sounds from the depths of the tunnels, similar to speech in an unknown language.

Underground prison of the NKVD

Unlike previous locations, this is in the center of Almaty. Previously, there was a departmental office of the NKVD, which had a separate prison. Later the building was converted into a guardhouse for war criminals. The two-storey semi-underground complex contains several punishment cells and a pit for prisoners to walk. For some unknown reason, the cells remained unclaimed - those entering the guardhouse are settled in a separate building. Perhaps for the reason that the people visiting the cell (including the author of the lines) constantly felt a strange chill and a gaze in the back of the head, even when no one was around.

Cinema "Kazakhstan"

At the end of the 90s, the glory of a mysterious and mystical place was fixed for the cinema. According to the guards, a poltergeist has started up in the building. At night, they heard the sounds of footsteps, sobs and groans, neatly folded chairs spread out by themselves. Later, journalists conducted an experiment and invited five volunteers from among the readers to spend the night in the cinema. Almost everyone who participated in this heard strange sounds. Also, according to old-timers, during the construction of the cinema, several people from among the Japanese prisoners of war died. Now the building houses several organizations, including a photo studio, a copy center and a strip club.
