According to the opinion prevailing in historical science, this secret society was founded in the second half of the 18th century by a professor at the University of Ingolstadt (Bavaria), Adam Weishaupt. But this is not necessarily the case. For some conspiracy theorists, based on the Masonic legend, believe that the history of this order should be reckoned for a period of 6,000 years, starting from the time when either extraterrestrial or otherworldly forces showed the Sumerian priests a certain Book of Power, which was written by them on stone. Then the Egyptians copied it into papyri, which were always kept in the strictest confidence.
Falsified story
Another conspiracy tradition holds that the Illuminati emerged in the Middle Ages as a secret educational society of scientists fighting against persecution by the Inquisition. This tradition names Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Nicolaus Copernicus, and even Isaac Newton as Illuminati. You can read about this, for example, in the book “Falsified History” by French journalist Etienne Kassé, recently translated into Russian. Sometimes you can find statements that this secret order of scientists, keeping secret knowledge from mere mortals, existed in the days of antiquity, and many of the well-known pillars of ancient Greek wisdom were among its ranks.
Angel of the Apocalypse
Experts speak of the so-called Philadelphia as a close or even identical society to the Illuminati. They first appeared at the very beginning of the XIV century in France, when a certain Guillard de Cressonesar proclaimed himself “the angel of the Church of Philadelphia,” which is referred to in the Apocalypse. In 1310, he was declared a heretic and imprisoned in a dungeon. This was done by the knight Guillaume de Mogaret, well known for the defeat of the Templar order. In the 17th century, Philadelphs reappear in England, and a century later - in France, where one of the Masonic lodges appropriated this name.

Around the same time, Weishaupt's Bavarian Illuminati entered the historical scene. The first neophytes were admitted to this order on May 1, 1776. Initially, the order consisted of only five people, but after three years it had four branches in Bavarian cities. By the middle of 1782, the order numbered approximately 300, and two years later - over 650 people. If Adam Weishaupt preferred to recruit the most gifted young men from among his students into the order, then Baron Knigge began to "hunt" mainly for the most noble, learned and noble people. He managed to involve a large number of people in the order and awaken in them the most ardent hopes not to reform the then dominant state system. The Bavarian Illuminati included the Dukes Ernest II of Gotha, Karl August of Weimar. Ferdinand of Brunswick, Prince Neuwied. a number of Göttingen professors and even the world famous teacher Pestalozzi. Ultimately, the order reached almost 2,000 people.
The rout
However, in 1784-86. the Bavarian Illuminati were defeated. The Elector issued a decree prohibiting the activities of any secret society. Freemasons and Illuminati immediately closed their temples. Then the police got involved. During searches in the homes of the leaders of the order, many interesting papers were found. In particular, it was possible to find out that the order was secretly funded by the Rothschild clan.
In fact, one gets the impression that the rapid spread of the influence of the Bavarian Illuminati was hardly based only on the charismatic abilities of Adam Weisshaupt and Baron Knigge. Most likely, it was well prepared by the activities of the Freemasons and secret financial transactions. And here, it seems, the fun begins.

The Illuminati owns international banks, the oil business, the most powerful industries and trade organizations. Their people flooded political structures and bought most of the governments.
One world order
The list of thirteen most powerful Illuminati includes the Astor, Bundy, Collins, Du Pont, Freeman, Kennedy, Lee, Onassis, Rockefeller families. Rothschild, Russell, Van Duyne and the Merovingian The Merovingians in this case refer to all European royal families. The ultimate goal of the Illuminati is to create a unified world government and a new world order. In this they are extremely close to the influential British-American secret society The Committee of 300, which, most likely, should be seen as an integral part of the broader Illuminati system. As part of such, obviously, one should perceive the conspiratorial Masonic elite as well as the "Priory of Zion" controlled by the Merovingians.
