Residential building # 50 was erected in 1740, and for several decades it was an average building, akin to those located in the same place. But everything changed when, in the attic of this building, a young lady committed a suicidal act, throwing herself out of the window. According to the legend, the girl was abused by her uncle, which she could not bear and jumped out.
In other versions, there is a mention of a young man who was closed for a misdemeanor in the attic and was periodically fed through a small gap in the door. After some time, the guy went crazy and died, and after his death he became a ghost.
Another legend says that in the above place there lived a girl who was attacked in the past by a servant with sadistic inclinations and beat her to death.
It is not known what actually happened there, but the fact is that something not from our world lives in the walls of building # 50, terrible and very aggressive. Periodically, it appears in the form of a red-brown misty cloud, and sometimes in the form of a translucent "standard" ghost.
From 1859 to 1874, a certain Thomas Myers lived in this building, whose bride refused his marriage proposal, which wounded the man in the heart. He almost never left the confines of his room, being completely alone. It is believed that he was influenced by the sounds and mystical phenomena of the place, that he was gradually losing his mind. Since his death, the reputation of this house has deteriorated, and now all the locals were afraid of it.

In 1872, the famous Lord Littleton made a bet that he would spend the night in the very room where mysticism constantly occurs. Armed with a weapon, he went to house # 50. At night, something unknown appeared before him, and he made several shots towards the creature, but in the morning he found only bullets on the floor.
15 years after this event, the local print publication posted on its pages a story that a maid was accidentally (or deliberately) hidden in the attic of the above building, and when it was opened in the morning, the frightened girl was already without reason. She was sent to a medical facility, but she died a day later.
The same magazine published another article where he told about a man who decided to test the action of otherworldly forces in this room on himself. He also stayed there overnight. In the morning, the nobleman was found paralyzed and could not utter a word.
What happened to the house then?
After all the known stories, the residents of this house began to complain that they regularly observe the ghost of Thomas Myers, who is showing aggression. A huge number of myths and legends led to the fact that in 1930 there were no inhabitants there, and the building itself was bought by the local organization Maggs Bros., where they opened a large antiques store.
An interesting fact is that the mystical phenomena stopped there, but one thing remained unchanged - the attic room was locked and even the company's employees were prohibited from entering.
