The Russian woman photographed abnormal clouds over a mountain in Siberia and amazed netizens. Her pictures were published on the official National Geographic Russia Facebook page. The frames show iridescent clouds of unusual shapes over the snow-covered tops of the mountains. “I took this beauty off early in the morning over the highest mountain in Siberia - Belukha. Irisation (rainbow clouds) is a rather rare optical phenomenon in which very thin clouds located near the Sun are colored in spectral colors. The phenomenon is caused by the diffraction of light on cloud droplets,”explained the author of the photographs Svetlana Kazina.
She also added that the clouds in the images are very thin and resembled more lace than ordinary clouds. In addition, Kazina noted that the wind at this height was so strong that the pattern of the cloud weaving changed every second. The post went viral and received thousands of likes and reposts.
