This question once again agitated the progressive public after it got acquainted with the sensational statement of Professor Dr Stuart Hameroff from the Department of Anesthesiology and Psychology at the University of Arizona and concurrently director Center for the Study of Consciousness at the same university (Director of the Center of Consciousness Studies). And he said that a person's consciousness does not disappear without a trace after his death,but literally sucked into the fabric of the universe. And supposedly the mechanism for the implementation of this process is built into our nervous system.

Materialists deny the existence of the soul - a kind of immaterial substance that idealists assert. And which, according to their belief, after death leaves the physical body, but can return. As is the case with the temporarily dead - those who stood on the threshold of the "other world." Therefore, the materialists, explaining NDE, sin only on a kind of hallucinations generated by the dying brain.

Hameroff, in fact, filled idealistic ideas with matter. He stated about the physical processes associated with the movement of souls. So maybe, in fact, besides the world visible to all of us, there is some other world? The one in which the souls who have left the bodies dwell? Or even the Lord Himself, whose kingdom, as you know, is "not of this world"?

Interpreting NDE on the Science TV channel (Through the Wormhole), Stuart Hammerov stated that the human brain is a quantum computer, our consciousness is a kind of software, and the soul is information accumulated at the quantum level.

The main thing in the new theory is that the carriers of consciousness are indicated - these are protein microtubules located inside neurons, which were previously assigned the modest role of reinforcement and transport intracellular channels.

Hameroff, in his 1987 book Ultimate Computing, suggested that microtubules are underestimated. That it is not neurons, but they accumulate and process information. Then the professor convinced Penrose of this, whom he himself thought that it was time to reconsider the ideas about the work of the brain. And look for a quantum component in them.

Scientists are now proving that microtubules, by their structure, are best suited to be carriers of quantum properties in the brain. Because they can maintain quantum states for a long time - that is, work as quantum computers.

“When the heart stops supplying blood to the brain, the microtubules seem to discharge,” explains Hameroff. - However, the information accumulated in them is not destroyed, does not disappear, but goes into space.

Carriers of quantum information and, consequently, souls, according to the professor, are woven from some material, "much more fundamental than neurons - from the very fabric of the Universe."

“I think that consciousness, or what preceded it, has always existed in the universe,” says Hameroff. “Perhaps since the Big Bang,” says the professor.

Now scientists are more and more actively experimenting with so-called quantum computers, in which information carriers are elementary particles. In the future, they must increase the power and speed of computing systems to supernatural levels. And it is no coincidence that the 2012 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded for the creation of technologies for manipulating quantum systems. It was received by Serge Arosh and David Wineland.

“With the help of quantum computers of the future, we will be able to do calculations that cannot be obtained in any other way,” said Professor Mark Eriksson, head of the Department of Physics at the University of Wisconsin.

But the question is: to what extent can a quantum supercomputer be improved? It was posed to himself by Seth Lloyd of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He himself answered. They say, it is obvious that the most powerful device will be the one in which all particles in the Universe will be involved. And they are - protons, neutrons, electrons and other little things, according to the scientist's calculations, about 10 to the 90th degree. And if these particles had been involved since the Big Bang, they would have already performed 10 to the 120th power of logical operations. This is so much that it is not even possible to imagine. For comparison: all computers during their existence have performed less than 10 to the 30th power of operations. And all information about a person with his many individual quirks is written in approximately 10 to 25 bits.

And then Lloyd thought: what if the universe is already someone's computer? Then, he reasoned, everything inside her, including us, is part of the computational process. Or his product … So, somewhere there must be a Programmer.

Lloyd suggests that initially, not just information in the form of a soul is invested in a person, but a program. Special - capable of self-learning and improvement. What, in fact, are talking about Hameroff and Penrose. They even explain why it is transmitted and then withdrawn. They point to the carriers of the accumulated information, which does not seem to disappear without a trace.

Theoretically, it doesn't take much space to place a soul program into a person. One chromosome is enough. Hameroff and Penrose talk about multiple microtubules. Maybe they store information in abundance? And not only about the microtubule owner?
