This event took place in December 1980 and lasted for two nights. On 26 December, RAF Woodbridge reported seeing lights that appeared to have landed in the vicinity of Rendlesham Forest.
They quickly arrived at the scene, thinking that the lights might have crashed the plane, but they were shocked by what they saw.
They subsequently claimed to have found a round, luminous metal object that frightened the animals on a nearby farm.

Returning to the city in the morning, they found that several triangular prints had appeared on the ground.
On December 28, Lt. Col. Charles Hult, the deputy base commander, visited the area and measured radiation readings. Then he and his team saw another flashing light hovering in the air and flashing a column of light.

He also remembered how the object disappeared. He added: “When people approached him, he would start to move towards a meeting, and then come back, and then suddenly he just disappeared like something from Star Trek, it was like the speed of the warp and we all said 'ah What was it?"
