This story was published on the American site of Bigfoot researchers (Bigfoot) bfro.net. It all happened in November 2015 in Vermilion County, Illinois.
“I remember laughing when my 70-year-old father-in-law told me that he had met something huge and incomprehensible in the forest. But then I saw it myself when I went in the autumn during the hunting season to the forest with a crossbow.
I was going to get a couple of deer and when I noticed something flickering in the dark foliage, I fired and, as it seemed to me, my arrow hit the target. I was in no hurry, and only after waiting 45 minutes I went in that direction drop by drop of blood on the ground and almost immediately heard unusual sounds. These were not deer cries, but something like a menacing growl.
I myself am not young for a long time, I am almost 50 years old and I hunted in these forests for many years. But I had never heard such a growl before. I got scared to be here alone and called my father-in-law. I told him that I had gotten a deer and I needed help to carry it.
But his father-in-law could not drive up, he said that he was too far away and it would take him more than an hour just to return home. I was afraid to tell him about my fears and nevertheless decided to go to the side where I heard a growl. Almost immediately I heard this sound again and it sounded very unusual, a bit like a rumbling in my stomach.
Then I heard a noise, which I took for the crackling of branches, and when I looked towards the mountain, about 30 yards (27 meters) from me I noticed something standing, which was dark and high. In a panic, I rushed to run away from the forest and called my father-in-law again. This time I told him what I might have seen and he was very pleased that I finally believed him.
The next day, the two of us came to this place and I again found there a bloody trail from a deer I had shot, and we followed this trail, but … nothing was found. The trail ended and the deer just seemed to disappear. We both got confused and then began to examine everything around.
In one place there was a cliff, at the bottom of which a stream flowed, we thought that maybe a deer fell down. But no, there was nothing below either. But there was something else here. The air smelled frankly. It was a very caustic mixture of dead body odor and a mixture of urine from various animals. The smell was so strong that it even stung my eyes. We soon left that place.

Then I again visited the forest, decided to pick mushrooms, but for some reason this place was very empty, I did not find a single mushroom. Then I went to the northern part of the forest and suddenly this nasty smell hit my nose again. And I got scared again and decided to get out of the forest.
But when I almost got out and found myself at the edge, it was there that I saw this single trace of a left obviously humanoid foot. It imprinted well and was huge. All the fingers were perfectly imprinted in the mud.
This location is about three miles from Kickapu State Park in Vermilion County, Illinois. I've never been so scared in this forest in my entire life.
Then I tried to ask my father-in-law about what exactly he saw in his case, but he absolutely did not want to talk about it. But after that meeting he stopped going to the forest to hunt”.
The footprint of the likely Bigfoot was taken by researcher Stan Courtney, who traveled to the location as soon as he received the above message. He also measured the print and found it to be 18 inches (45 cm) long, 11 inches (27 cm) wide at the toes and 6 inches (15 cm) wide at the heel.
