The first reports of mysterious events that took place in various regions of the world's oceans appeared in the press back in the 50-60s of the last century. The crews of Soviet and foreign submarines reported that at great depths they repeatedly encountered an inexplicable phenomenon. It seems that some unidentified objects appear near the boats, and the sonar units are picking up strange signals emanating from them. It feels like someone is trying to get in touch with the divers. The pulsating sounds emitted by objects resemble the croaking of frogs. Therefore, they became known as Quakers.

Features of the captured signals

Researchers of the deep sea claim that hydroacoustics often record a wide variety of noises in ocean waters. They are emitted either by living creatures or by engines and other mechanisms installed on ships and boats. However, all these sounds are chaotic, and the Quaker signals are emitted as if consciously. The object appears to be circling the submarine with an unknown target. After making strange movements around the boat, objects disappear as suddenly as they appear.

At the same time, no aggression was noticed on their part.

Proponents of the theory of the technogenic origin of objects emphasize that Quakers move along trajectories that are not characteristic of animals, and with extraordinary speed.

Vice-Admiral, Professor of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Yuri Petrovich Kvyatkovsky:

Establishing and Closing a Quaker Study Team

The naval leadership began to take reports of the appearance of Quakers seriously at the height of the Cold War between the USSR and the Western countries (at the turn of the 60s and 70s). There were fears that the Quakers were US reconnaissance targets based on the latest developments in the field of sonar detection of Soviet submarines.

The Ministry of Defense decided to create a special group that was supposed to study, analyze and systematize strange phenomena occurring in the pestilent ocean. A project was being developed to create a belt of special hydroacoustic buoys that could record the situation in Soviet territorial waters. But when it came to the technical implementation of such a project, it turned out that the size of the buoys should be so huge that it is technically very difficult to create, but the main thing is prohibitively expensive.

Commander-in-Chief of the Navy from 1985 to 1992, Vladimir Nikolaevich Chernavin:

In the early 1980s, the Quaker research program was closed for some unknown reason. All materials were classified. The curtailment of the program was probably a way to hide awareness of secret developments against the Soviet army from NATO intelligence services. However, some Soviet experts suggested that NATO had the same fears about the "intrigues" of the USSR and was taking similar retaliatory measures.

Other speculations about the nature of Quakers

There is very little information about the results of studying the Quaker phenomenon.

In those years, the topic of UFO visits to Earth became more and more popular. In this regard, it has been suggested that Quakers are unidentified underwater objects.

Specialists of the St. Petersburg branch of the Institute of the Seas of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who were involved in the research by the military, argued that Quakers are living beings unknown to science. These are not just ancient legendary monsters, but quite real representatives of an unknown form of biological life.

Perhaps humanity has not yet been aware of the Quakers because of their unusual appearance. For example, they could be grouped transparent plankton.

Or Quakers are cetacean creatures. It can be assumed that they are cautiously studying submarines in order to escape from predators in time, or, conversely, they perceive them as a food option, mistaking them for sperm whales.

There was another fantastic assumption that mysterious creatures are able to create a certain energy field that makes them invisible.
