In the lists of anomalous zones on the planet, the Chinese Black Bamboo Valley is often included in the top 5 most dangerous and mysterious places. For more than 50 years people have been disappearing here en masse. Since the first incident in 1950, about 100 people have disappeared, descending into the hollow. What is especially surprising if we say that the area of the hollow does not exceed 200 square meters.
For a European, the spectacle is amazing: a dense palisade of brown, black-green, black bare-stemmed plants, because of which one cannot see where to go - bamboo grows so densely that the horizon simply does not exist here. It is impossible to look into the distance. For the Chinese, bamboo is a familiar phenomenon, they know everything about it and have long learned to use it in everyday life. Only the black, which grows in the lowlands of the southwestern forest of Sichuan province, is not touched by anyone. Even the guides leave tourist groups at the border of the zone. And there are a lot of tourists here: there are always those who want to tickle their nerves and personally get lost in a strange forest.
History
1950 year. A military aircraft flying over the area disappeared from the radar. The pilot did not have time to warn about the breakdown, he just crashed down. Investigation of the disaster did not reveal the cause, perhaps the person became ill.
1962 year. A group of geological prospectors who came from the capital set off on a hike in order to compile a detailed description of the area. The bamboo hollow is surrounded by an equally dense mixed forest. But it was among the bamboo trunks that people disappeared. Only the conductor survived, who did not go down. He hesitated when he saw a thick fog filling the lowlands. This phenomenon is not uncommon in a humid area surrounded by lakes and swamps. But, after the visibility appeared, the conductor was no longer able to find traces of the group entrusted to him. Subsequent searches were unsuccessful.
1966 year. A similar situation occurs with cartographers - people who live a life of pioneers and know how to find a way out of any forest.

1976 year. From that year on, the nervousness reached its peak, and all subsequent groups of professionals and ordinary people felt panic as they approached the hollow. Especially when fog fell on the forest. There was information about auditory hallucinations: people talked about the eerie groans and grinding that came from the milky haze.
The remains and other traces of the stay of the missing people were not found.
The reasons
Modern research does not provide a precise answer. Scientists have found that basaltic rocks are highly magnetized here, and the cause of the magnetic anomaly is numerous outcrops of iron ore veins. Locals add up legends about a giant man-eating panda and about the vapor of some psychotropic substances that the local black bamboo can emit. Ufologists argue that the only explanation for the disappearance of people without a trace is the intrigues of representatives of alien races that can generate fogs for disguise.
Hollow today
You can find the black bamboo hollow on the anomalous zones map. The place is fenced, a path was laid along the forest, they charge a fee. The spectacle is stunning, but only a few are allowed inside, fearing a repetition of the mass disappearances of people.
