The first death from an illness caused by e-cigarette smoking has been reported in Illinois in the United States, according to the State Department of Health (IDPH). According to them, the patient died after a severe respiratory illness due to vape smoking. A total of 22 people between the ages of 17 and 38 have suffered respiratory illness after using e-cigarettes or vaping. At the same time, no common component was found in smoking formulations.
"Even if the cases look the same, it is unclear if these cases have a common cause or if they are different diseases with similar symptoms," the agency said in a statement. However, IDPH director Ngozi Ezike believes that the disease diagnosed in patients with chest pain or difficulty breathing is related to the use of e-cigarettes or vapes.

As part of the initiative, it is proposed to introduce the concept of "electronic smoking product". All such devices, according to the authors of the draft law, "belong to harmful and dangerous products."
This is not the first draft of the law concerning the use of vapes and hookahs. In May, the Moscow City Duma sent a bill to the federal parliament regulating the circulation of "devices that simulate tobacco smoking." The deputies referred to them as tobacco heating systems, vapes and hookahs: it is proposed to limit their use in public places and sell them only to adults.
