In Peru, near the city of Pisco, there is a mysterious object over which scientists around the world are puzzling. This mystical landmark is called the Andean Candelabrum or Paracas Candelabrum.
What is a mysterious phenomenon?
The Andean Candelabrum is a huge geoglyph, which is plotted on the side of a mountain that goes into the waters of a Pacific bay. Its height reaches almost 182 m. The object looks like a trident. It has a central trunk that diverges into 3 branches. Several more small furrows extend from each branch. On the side lines are figures of people, snakes and salamanders. The drawing was created using grooves dug into the surface of the mountain.
Researchers have no doubt that the geoglyph appeared on the slope many centuries, and maybe thousands of years ago. However, neither the winds nor the strongest hurricanes could erase the symbol. Scientists discovered an amazing fact: in this place, even during a storm, dust and small grains of sand do not rise into the air. Any trace left here remains unchanged for a very long time.
Disputes over the origin of the "Paracas Candelabrum"
For many years, experts have been trying to figure out the purpose of the ancient symbol. The mysterious "Candelabrum" has generated a huge number of hypotheses and assumptions:

It is believed that it was here that the Indians buried their jewelry, and applied the drawing as a talisman.
Relation to drawings in the Nazca desert
Scientists have found an identity in the technique of performing the Andean Candelabra and images from the Nazca plateau. Perhaps they were created by one people.
Taboo symbol
The Incas could have painted them to warn people against visiting the area.
Cult sign
Some authors suggest that the "Candelabrum" appeared in 1835. It was created by the exiled Spanish monk Ramon Rojas. According to his idea, the figure was to personify a "message to descendants."
Landmark for sailors
The symbol could be seen at a distance of 19 km from the coast. Someone thinks that the sign was left by pirates who rested in this place and hid the loot. According to another opinion, the "Candelabrum" warned ships of danger, since the sea near the mountain is often stormy.
Seismograph
Perhaps the geoglyph could serve as a mechanism that records seismic shocks and vibrations of the earth's crust.
Datura Monument
It is believed that the mysterious symbol is an image of a drug-containing plant called "Common Datura." In ancient times it was considered a shrine.
Lightning rod
According to another version, "Candelabrum" is a Viracocha lightning rod. This god in Inca mythology was a great creator.
Galactic Passport
Russian experts admitted that the drawing carries all the information about the Earth.
The list of theories and assumptions explaining the purpose of the Paracas Candelabrum is very impressive. However, not a single hypothesis has yet been proven. Careful analysis destroys all attempts to find an answer to history's greatest riddle.
