The Chongqing Morning Post reported on September 2 that a series of unidentified flying objects were spotted on August 31 at 7 p.m. in Dazu County, Chongqing Municipality, mainland China. A UFO seen in several villages has repeatedly appeared in the sky. One child screamed "aliens!" and ran away, hiding at home. The villagers observed UFOs until 10 pm, they claimed that they had not seen anything like it before

Flying saucers were like a Ferris wheel

Liao Yukun, a peasant from Jijia City, Dazu District, saw several bright lights in the sky as he gathered millet in his field. At first he thought the lights were searchlights, but he soon realized they were moving across the sky like flying saucers.

“Several of the saucers left behind a white smoke trail wherever they flew,” Liao said. "They were translucent yellow when I saw them about 500 meters away." “From time to time they would hover in the middle of the sky, and after a few minutes they would start spinning like a Ferris wheel,” Liao said. "From where I stood, it looked like they were spinning in unison."

Liao called his friend, Deng Daichuan, who lived five kilometers from his home. Dan also saw UFOs. “Several times I could only see one plate, and sometimes I could observe several objects at the same time,” said Dan. Dan also called his friends from his village, inviting them to come and see the UFO.

White light lit up the night sky

At 9:30 pm Dan saw a bright object in the distance approaching. It seemed to be heading straight towards another UFO. Then suddenly a blinding flash appeared and their lights cast yellow fire across half the sky. Then, just as suddenly, the moving object disappeared from the sky.

Liao described the white stripe as if it divided the night sky in two. The stars in the first half of the sky could be clearly seen. Another part of the sky was closed, as if hidden from view. After half an hour, the plates disappeared and the sky returned to normal.

The next day, people discussed what they saw. Some said that UFOs were aliens, some believed that they were satellites, others said that they could be weather balloons or searchlights.

The Dazu District Meteorological Bureau confirmed that no weather balloons were deployed that day. In addition, people from the Nanping and Yongchuan areas also claimed to have seen UFOs that day.
