Residents of the Osoka village saw unusual, huge footprints in the forest. They were measured. Track length - 40 cm, step size - 1.5 meters. The tracks went deep into the forest. And I must say that lavish forests are like taiga. You can easily get lost or hide from people's eyes.
Of course, the first thing that came to mind then was that someone was joking. But then the teachers and animal specialists came and determined that this was not a joke at all.
“The fingers of a strange creature were clearly visible in the snow, moreover, the soil even sagged from the weight of his body,” says a local resident Lyudmila. - You can't fake that! Here the whole village started talking about strange events. Pupils of the school said that one day in the fall they went to a disco and saw something huge and dark by the spring. It moved. Then there was a roar. The children started to run out of fright.
And one night, a huge creature wandered near the village. Residents remember how dogs barked strongly and cows bellowed at midnight. One local hunter recounted how, back in 1995, he saw a huge hairy creature resembling a gorilla on the banks of a local river. The Bigfoot was resting in the bushes, but when he saw the hunter, he instantly disappeared.
Who actually took a fancy to the village of Osoka then was never found out. Ulyanovsk scientists were somehow skeptical about these stories, not showing enough attention to them. But locals believe it was Bigfoot. After all, many have seen a string of large footprints in the forest …

- Of course, we were curious to walk in the footsteps of the Bigfoot, besides, according to legend, this creature lived nearby, - Tatyana Vasilyeva recalls. “But the only thing we were able to achieve was to organize an expedition to study the soils of Tajikistan. And at the same time try to find traces of Bigfoot.
At the beginning of May 1982, such an expedition, which consisted of ten people, went to the Hissar mountains. Having traveled all over the area for a month and collected curious material on flora and fauna, the researchers tried to find witnesses, those who met with Bigfoot. But Tajiks were reluctant to talk. They were ready to provide their home for an overnight stay, share food, but as soon as scientists started asking about hula, they instantly switched to other topics.
- We then noticed that many stories do not fit. And the storytellers themselves are great lovers of marijuana. Sometimes their true stories were mixed with drug hallucinations, says Vasilieva. - All of them referred to the testimonies of a brother, father, family friend, that is, they retell the story of another person.
