A ball lightning about a meter in diameter flew up to a multi-storey building and exploded. As a result of the explosion, all household appliances of residents of two entrances of house No. 26 in the Novovyatsky district of the city of Kirov (Russia) were destroyed.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 3 at three o'clock in the afternoon. As a resident of the five-story building, Raisa Koposova, said, she was at home with her granddaughter when a thunderstorm began on the street.

“We quickly unplugged all TVs and computers, I went out onto the balcony and then saw a huge ball lightning flying from the Vyatka side somewhere at about the 5th floor level,” the pensioner recalls. - I myself am from Siberia, as a child I often saw such lightning, but they were all small. This one was about a meter in diameter. I saw such a big one for the first time."

According to Raisa Alexandrovna, not having reached her house thirty meters, the lightning exploded and crumbled into small sparks.

“I sat down, it was so scary,” the woman shares. Then a downpour began with heavy hail and gusty winds.

And later it turned out that from a lightning strike in two entrances from the side of the house to which it flew up, the intercom broke, and all household and computer equipment in the apartments burned out.

“Everyone who was not at home and who did not disconnect the devices from the sockets, everyone suffered. People were simply left without televisions, computers, washing machines, telephones. One neighbor even got to the hospital, she was so upset,”explains Raisa Koposova.

The pensioner herself believes that everything could be even worse. For example, lightning could fly into a house, and then a fire could not be avoided.
