A German expert who has made a great contribution to the work on the creation of so-called machine learning claims that AI will not only replace people in many areas of work, but will also begin to spread beyond the borders of our planet, according to the portal futurism.com
During the WIRED2016 conference, programmer Jürgen Schmidhuber announced that AI will play a key role in the mining industry in space. Artificial intelligence, unlike humans, can survive in space and start extracting raw materials.
According to Schmidhuber, billions of robotic factories will appear in the asteroid belt by 2050. Over the next few million years, AI will explore and colonize galaxies. And people, most likely, will remain on Earth or in its surroundings and will not play too large a role in the expansion.
The German expert believes that such a scenario is possible because artificial intelligence develops and learns at a very fast pace. Over time, it will become even more effective in analyzing and solving problems.
