In one of the unnamed deserts in the west of the Australian continent, amazing tracts of land have been discovered. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that on the grass covering a huge territory, there are countless mysterious circles, in the center of which there is absolutely bare red earth without any traces of vegetation. Specialists are completely at a loss, they cannot remember similar anomalies in the entire history of the study of our planet.

World scientists have already named this natural phenomenon "devilish circles", suggesting that such a name could have been given to it by Australian aborigines in due time. The desert is located fifteen kilometers from the Australian city of Newman. The anomaly was accidentally spotted two days ago by an ambulance helicopter pilot en route from Newman to a nearby village. After completing his service, the pilot called the staff of Edith Cowan University in Bunbury and reported his amazing find.

Scientists believed that this is a rare seasonal phenomenon, because otherwise someone would certainly have noticed the "devil's circles" at other times of the year. While researchers are not able to determine the nature of this phenomenon, however, several more or less plausible theories have already been put forward.

According to one of them, the roots of the grass are eaten by insects, and birds and animals use the formed bald spots for nesting and overnight. Another hypothesis is that plants are deliberately organized in such unusual ways to gain more access to water. During precipitation, moisture is almost not absorbed into the bare ground and gradually flows down to the periphery. So, "devil's circles" can act as a source of water not only for herbs, but also for various living organisms.

If you look at the wonderful desert from a bird's eye view, you might think that thousands of flying saucers have landed here. The diameter of each circle is several meters, and they are scattered very consistently. At the moment, Australian experts and scientists invited from other countries are carefully investigating this phenomenon until the grass dried up and the circles disappeared - presumably until next year. Ufologists also do not yet know how to identify this anomaly, although they refuse to believe in its “natural” reasons …
