These creepy Kurmyshes
Kurmyshi is a place that has long been considered the most lustful in Simbirsk. This is a site on the banks of Simbirka, approximately between the current Orlova and Karl Marx streets.
It was almost downtown, but the hell was going on here. All the lower classes of society gathered in Kurmyshi. They scattered to brothels and brothels, from where they were periodically carried forward with their feet after fatal knife wounds or blows with something heavy. The corpses were dumped directly from the shore into Simbirka. It is not surprising that many horror stories are associated with this place.
The most famous is about a crying girl. It says that once a 12-year-old prostitute stole a wallet from a wealthy Simbirian. In the same place, in Kurmyshi, that is, along the bed of the Simbirka, according to old-timers, a certain fantastic creature named Tiburon wanders. It translates from Spanish as "shark". It is not known what this creature looks like, but the fact that it is scary and dangerous for humans is a fact.
Another "Kurmysh" story is connected with the fact that once there … the rampant of crime stopped. At that time, a Jew lived in one of the houses there. Someone spotted a suspicious light in this man's window and complained to the police.

Gloomy ravines
Another pair of mysterious places is Soloviev and Strizhov ravines. They were not far from cemeteries, and there were buried typhoid dead, suicides and unsung. The executions in this place at the beginning of the Soviet era added horror to Strizhov's ravine. But some Ulyanovsk drivers believe that ghosts are involved in the fact that accidents often occur on the Minaevsky bridge. Although, all the same, motorists themselves must be blamed for violating traffic rules.
