Scientists have speculated about the purpose of the voids recently discovered in the Great Pyramid in Egypt.
A gift from space
"Big Void" is the name of a secret room discovered last November inside the Great Pyramid of Giza. Its existence was indicated by studies led by the Frenchman Mehdi Tayoubi (Hip Institute, Paris)) and the Japanese Kunihiro Morishima (University of Nagoya, Japan) in the framework of the international project ScanPyramids (Scanning the pyramids). They published their scientific facts in an article published in the journal Nature.

Now scientists are wondering what this "Big Void" is hiding? There are plenty of hypotheses, including the most incredible ones.
In the secret room, books and artifacts rescued from the lost Atlantis can be collected. Some alien items may be kept, inherited from aliens, in connection with which the ancient Egyptians are suspected. Some enthusiasts hope that a so-called time capsule is hidden inside the pyramid - a container with information carriers left by representatives of advanced civilizations that lived on Earth before.

The Italian mathematician Giulio Magli, professor of the rather exotic department of archaeoastronomy at the Technical University of Milan (Politecnico di Milano), has a not so exotic assumption, but also quite exciting. According to the scientist, there is a throne made of meteorite iron in a secret room.
The archaeoastronomer refers to the funerary traditions of the ancient Egyptians and to the texts that abound in the walls of the pyramid. According to them, before ascending after death to the stars in the north, the pharaoh must pass through some "Stargate", sitting on an iron throne.
"Big emptiness", which reaches 8 meters high, is located just at the northern edge of the pyramid. It stretches about 30 meters above the Great Gallery - an inclined 46-meter tunnel leading to the Tsar's Chamber.
The throne of Cheops may be similar to that of his mother, Queen Hetepheres. The throne was recreated at Harvard University from the pieces found. It was a large, but rather low chair made of cedar, covered with plates of gold and faience.

According to Mugli, the throne of Cheops differed mainly in that it was covered with sheets of meteorite iron. The Egyptians actively used "metal from space" to make items for the pharaohs. For example, a dagger found in the tomb of Tutankhamen was made from meteorite iron.

According to the most "mundane" hypothesis, the discovered cavity does not hide anything mysterious. There is not even an iron throne there. It's generally empty. The cavity could be used to accommodate counterweights used to lift heavy granite structures. It is known that the ancient Egyptians used similar engineering solutions.
The void could also serve as a kind of structural element that reduced the load of massive elements on the masonry of the Great Gallery.
The archaeoastronomer disagrees with the skeptics. And he assures that for the appearance of such a vast "emptiness" a much more compelling reason was needed - associated with Egyptian funeral rites.
That is, inside the discovered cavity there is at least an iron throne, designed to move through the "Stargate". And then they themselves. After all, the remains of Pharaoh Cheops are not in his pyramid. Maybe moved?
Some enthusiasts inadvertently assume that the secret room may contain a Stargate in addition to the throne.
Another thing is not excluded. What if the "Big Void" leads to the real tomb of Cheops, where, in fact, he still rests? The authors of this hypothesis believe that the King's Chamber was built to divert the eyes. And the Pharaoh is hidden - roofing felts in the "emptiness" itself, or somewhere nearby.
The secret will be revealed
We will soon find out what exactly is in the "emptiness" hidden so far. A plan to penetrate it was recently announced by French experts from INRIA (State Institute for Research in Informatics and Automation) and the French National Center for Scientific Research. They offered to send a robot for reconnaissance, which is supposed to be pushed inside through a small hole 4-5 centimeters in diameter, made in the wall.
The robot is foldable and inflatable. He will enter the secret room through a hollow tube. After passing the wall, it will straighten up and inflate a bubble, which will turn it into a small semblance of an airship. The robot will fly around the room, transmitting the image from the TV camera installed on it, return to the tube, deflate the bubble and fold. In the end, he will simply be pulled out.

The "big void" in the Cheops pyramid "manifested itself" in a kind of photographs taken using muon radiography or muon scanning. Muon scanning is essentially similar to X-ray scanning. Only instead of X-rays, the object "shines through" muons - elementary particles formed by cosmic rays. Muons can easily penetrate various natural materials and structures. Penetrating dense materials and voids, they "outline" them, scattering and deflecting in different ways in these structures.
According to preliminary data, there is at least one more hidden room in the pyramid. It is smaller than the Big Void, adjacent to the northeastern edge.
