The rapid technological development of humanity will allow people to come closer to immortality within the next two hundred years. So says Yuval Noah Harari, an Israeli expert on history and philosophy.
After two hundred years, Harari says, the species Homo sapiens in its modern version will cease to exist. But not because people will die in a thermonuclear war or as a result of a machine uprising - no, everything is much more optimistic. Advances in bioengineering will allow people to create new forms of organic life, as well as, for example, cyborgs, which will become the next stage of our evolution.
In the end, life can even become inorganic - the scientist is sure, implying the transfer of human consciousness to computer systems. In addition, inorganic life can arise as a result of the creation of a full-fledged artificial intelligence.
“Biotechnology and AI can provoke entirely new life forms. Who said that life must necessarily be created naturally? The times of evolution have passed, now we must take the situation into our own hands,”says the Israeli scientist.
