Residents of the village of Kaskinovo, Kusinsky District, are so accustomed to and accustomed to the anomalous phenomena that periodically make themselves felt that they consider them commonplace. Their worldview can be compared to a dream in which you easily fly, and others are surprised: how is it?
The legend about the origin of the Ural village of Kaskinovo, lost among forests and mountains, has come down to us as an ancient epic: not in writing, but orally. This story, passed by word of mouth, was told to me by an 81-year-old resident of the village Nuriman Khazhiev.
- When the Bashkirs came to these places, they founded a village on the river bank. People do not remember its name. Soon, children began to drown in the river. The residents thought: this place is not good. And they decided to leave it. Some of the settlers founded Kaskinovo, which means “escaped” in Turkic. Others settled a few kilometers away and named their village Tuktarovo, which contains the Turkic root “stopped,” Nuriman-ata began.
Since then, the space between these settlements and their surroundings has been considered "enchanted". People in them wander through the forest, the compass needle dances, and the modern GPS-navigator fails. There is a swamp between Tuktarovo and Kaskinovo. Strangers who wander there, try to go to the road, but again find themselves in the same place. According to the observations of local residents, anomalous phenomena are known in the forest to the south of Kaskinovo, a field 6 kilometers from this village on the site of a former village called Azyamka, Simakovka tract near the village of Zlokazovo and others.
While people bypass the strange nooks and crannies of nature, they have become reserved. Colonies of cranes have settled in the fields between Kaskinovo and Petropavlovka, wild swans nest on the banks of the Nikolsky pond. Unafraid graceful birds from year to year return to their native places in the spring.
Strange pits
According to eyewitnesses, one day in the fall, at the end of the 80s of the last century, the villagers Sagit Khusniyarov and Sabir Kafeev plowed the land for winter crops on tractors about six kilometers from Kaskinovo (the same Azyamka field on the site of the village of the same name). It was at night. Suddenly, at the edge of the field, almost at the very forest, they saw a bright column of light, which was born in the sky and reached the very ground. The object began to descend vertically, but did not sit down, hovering several meters above the ground.

At night, the tractor drivers were afraid to approach the UFO descent site, and the next day they decided to scout if there were any traces left. There was a trace, and what a trail: a deep, perfectly round hole with a diameter of about a meter gaped among the grass. Not a crumb of earth lay nearby, as if someone had taken a soil sample with a giant pipe. The bottom was not visible. When workers tried to measure the depth of the hole by throwing a stone into it, they did not hear the sound of a fall. Residents found a similar hole in the ground on the opposite side of Kaskinovo.
“My friend and I once went mushrooming in the forest,” said Rafilya Sayfullina, a resident of the forest, “and about six kilometers west of the village we came across a deep hole in the forest. Its edges were very even, about a meter wide, and very deep, the bottom was not visible.
All these years one resident of Kaskinovo was going to descend into these wells on a rope more than once, but he never did it. What prevented him from carrying out his plans? Fear, villagers think.
Over time, strange inserts into the planetary bowels began to collapse, and the Kaskinites themselves deliberately threw twigs and sticks at them so that the children would not inadvertently fail. Today, only small depressions overgrown with grass remain from the pits. But who knows what will open up if you dig deeper?
Together with several residents of Kaskinovo, we went to look for traces of a well in the Azyamka field. The rain prevented the search, but, finally, getting pretty wet, they found a pothole less than a meter deep in the grass.
- This is not the place, - said Nuriman Khazhiev, sitting on the edge of the pothole and lowering his legs. - That hole was even and deep.
Fancy stones
Not far from a place in the vicinity of Kaskinovo, where an unidentified flying object was seen, leaving a trail in the form of a hole, residents find “stones” that look like melted pieces of unknown metal. In silver color, they resemble titanium, but much heavier. It can be assumed that these are foundry products that accidentally fell into the dumping of roads. But by their outward signs, they are still unusual.
Former tractor driver Salman Khazhiev carried out of the house a lumpy piece of substance that sparkled with metal. The ingot fit easily in his working palm. The neighbors brought the steelyard. The weight of the stone was slightly less than a kilogram.
- I chipped off a small piece with a chisel, - admitted Salman Khazhiev, - and before that he weighed exactly a kilogram.
At the site of the break, the structure of the metal stone was clearly visible. Around it stood out a silvery edge a few millimeters thick, which was much lighter than the inside. The bezel was slightly porous. What the pebble really was was anyone's guess. And scientists have not studied these findings.
