The highest mountain on the planet - Everest - has been conquered by people more than once. It seemed that if a person visited an altitude of 8,848 meters, then the mountains below this mark would surrender under his onslaught quite easily. However, in one of the most mysterious regions of the world - Tibet, there is an unshakable stone mass, to the top of which no human has ever set foot. They call her Kailash.

Place of pilgrimage

Representatives of four religious teachings regularly visit the vicinity of the mountain - Buddhists, Hindus, Jains and Bon believers. They come here to see firsthand the sacred place mentioned in the annals of their teachings.

Hindus believe that Kailash is the abode of Shiva, a god who can create and destroy entire worlds in one move. In their legends the mountain is called somewhat differently - Manosarovar. It is here, on a beautiful snow-capped peak, that the deity entering the trimurti meditates. And ordinary mortals will not be able to disturb his peace with all their desire - it is believed that Kailash will alienate anyone who dares to interfere with Shiva.

The Bon teachings have their own idea of the essence of the mountain. It was here, according to legend, that the great Tonpa Shenrab descended to earth, laying the foundations of this religion.

Be that as it may, adherents of religions agree on one thing: the mountain is sacred. They come here to make the "Great Kora", that is, a detour around Kailash. The length of the path is 53 kilometers. Yogis living in Tibet all their lives are able to overcome this distance in a few days; visitors will need a little more time. But some make a similar detour several times - the best is 3, 13 or 108 trips. In the latter case, you will have to go about two years, but the reward for the torment is great - not only complete liberation from sins and cleansing of karma, but also the lifetime achievement of nirvana. It is not known for certain whether there were people who made such a grandiose campaign.

With the exception of the Bon teachings, the pilgrims circle Kailash clockwise. They meet many amazing things on their way: the "heavenly cemetery", where the lamas and monks go on their last journey, the footprints of the legendary Buddha Shakyamuni, the cave, where, according to legend, the character of religious traditions Bon Naro Bonchung meditated.

It is quite difficult to overcome such a path: the most difficult thing is to climb the Dolma La pass. But difficulties do not stop pilgrims who flock here from all over the world in order to get in touch with the places described in their teachings.

Attempts to conquer the top

It cannot be said that people, despite their natural fear of unknown forces, did not make attempts to conquer the "stubborn mountain." Another thing is that all climbers and scientists have failed in this matter.

One of the most ambitious attempts to climb is the expedition to Kailash, undertaken by the Spaniards. They even received permission from the Chinese authorities to climb and conduct scientific research. But they failed to conquer the snowy peak. Scientists were prevented not by supernatural forces, but by pilgrims, who consider all attempts to ascend blasphemy. They surrounded the Spanish camp, which was set up at the foot, and did not allow them to commit sacrilege. And the protests expressed by the UN and the Dalai Lama finally destroyed the hopes of scientists to write their name in the annals of history.

But Russian researchers have practically succeeded in accomplishing the impossible. Yuri Zakharov, a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, with his son Pavel, without first obtaining permission from the authorities, nevertheless set off. They almost made it to the ice top, covering a distance of 6,200 meters. But at this mark, the researchers faced an unexplained phenomenon.

At night, the Zakharovs saw unusual balls, the size of a soccer ball, in the sky. They glowed, flashing every few seconds. However, scientists decided that this phenomenon was just an unusual accumulation of natural electricity.

The Russian expedition of two people, perhaps, would have reached the very top, if not for a sharp deterioration in the weather, which forced them to descend from Kailash. Scientists say that in addition to flashes of electricity, unexplained phenomena were not observed. But they noted a strange violation in the work of the visual organs: if you close your eyes, and then open them again, then certain stripes in the sky become visible, forming a semblance of a grid. However, this can be attributed to the effect of thin air on the body.

Unusual location: hello from space

The local population has been watching outbreaks of electricity over Kailash since time immemorial. Someone thinks that this is lightning in the hands of Shiva, whose silhouette can also sometimes be seen on the snow-capped peak. Other people, such as Yuri Zakharov, explain this phenomenon from a scientific point of view.

But other strange events do not stop happening near the mountain: people disappear, time accelerates. Many esotericists argue that such phenomena occur due to the fact that Kailash, thanks to some factors, for example, the pyramidal shape, is able to accumulate cosmic energy. In addition, it is located exactly in the center of the stone spiral, which is confirmed by numerous photographs from satellites. If Kailash is really a huge storage device, then it may well produce radiation that distorts time and space.

Some researchers argue that the "stone pyramid" is a man-made structure: nature, allegedly, is not capable of creating objects of such a regular shape and orienting their edges exactly to the cardinal points. However, many other mountains have a similar shape, including Everest. And their natural origin has long been proven by geological research.

There is also a theory that there are some voids inside Kailash, where the legendary black Chintamani stone is kept - a gift from the distant civilization of Orion. It is he who supports the spiritual development of each person and allows to make all new scientific discoveries.

Kailash is one of the most mysterious places in the world. And so far, the mountain is not going to reveal its secrets to humanity. Perhaps we have not yet grown to them?
