The ancient Greek thinker Plato (427-347 BC) in his works Timaeus and Critias described the life and structure of the legendary and mysterious country with its capital on the island of Atlantis, located in the Atlantic Ocean for more than 11.6 thousand years ago.
There are also other ancient sources telling about this country. The description of the capital and the state amazes the imagination of modern people with the grandeur and splendor of the temples, palaces, ring canals, irrigation systems, and a high level of development for that time.
Plato writes that the god of the seas, Poseidon, by lot (between the gods) received the island of Atlantis (Poseidonis) for his inheritance and settled it with his children from the mortal Kleito, making them kings. He put the island in order.
In the dialogue Timaeus, Plato notes the peculiarity of the legendary country: “On this island, which was called Atlantis, a great and amazing union of kings arose, this side of the strait they seized Libya up to Egypt and part of Europe up to Tyrrhenia … The wars are not reported, since the process of accession could be on a contractual basis.
Presumably, the capital of Tyrrhenia was located in the area of the modern city of Grenoble (southeast of France), where the tombs of the rulers of this country were.
In the dialogue "Critias" it is reported that the capital on the island of Atlantis had a harbor, which housed 1200 ships. The Acropolis, with the Temple of Poseidon and the royal palace, was surrounded by three wide concentric canals that were the inner harbor. The central island of the city was surrounded by stone walls, and the bridges connecting them had towers and gates. The stone for the walls was of three colors (white, red, black), which was mined there in the dungeons. The Atlanteans applied molten copper to the stone walls around the outer ring of the earth. The wall of the inner rampart was covered with tin casting, and the wall of the acropolis was covered with orichalcum emitting a "fiery glitter". From this it is clear that the bowels of the island and other places were intensively developed. At the same time, they created various urban and other more important underground communications, dwellings and underground passages,going in different directions over long distances, including to the African and American continents. All of them are mainly tied to the Atlantic Ocean region. The researchers located the capital of Atlantis in many places in the Atlantic, from Mexico to Africa and from the existing equator to Canada, Greenland, Scandinavia. There were also suggestions about the possible location of the capital within the Mediterranean Sea and other parts of the land.
Atlantis was mainly searched for at the bottom of the ocean and seas, although it is well known that according to Plato, the state was also located on the continental parts of the earth (in north-west Africa, called Libya), Europe, on the opposite continent (America). On these lands, the material remains of an ancient civilization are preserved somewhere, the discovery of which will provide an answer to many questions, including the exact location of Atlantis.
In the meantime, we can assume the following: in 9564 BC. a powerful earthquake and the eruption of an underwater volcano destroyed the island of Atlantis (Poseidonis), which plunged into the waters of the ocean, creating huge waves and rains that flooded the lowlands of the Earth, leaving a memory of itself in the minds of people as if it were a Flood.
The best part of the people was warned about the impending catastrophe by the Higher Forces in advance, which allowed them to evacuate in a timely manner, secretly, to distant places of their huge empire, to neighboring and distant countries, where they left a historical memory of themselves (Africa, Egypt, northern elevated regions of Russia, India, China, etc.). Plato places the island of Atlantis in the Atlantic behind the Pillars of Hercules. He writes that this island can be easily reached from the mainland. Behind it there were other islands, behind which was the opposite mainland (America) surrounding this sea. Atlantis, as an empire, was larger than Libya (northwestern Africa) and Asia (Asia Minor) combined.
Legends that have come down to us testify that Atlantis, described by Plato, after the annexation of neighboring peoples and countries, became an empire that consisted of 15 confederations, which included the lands located around the modern North Pole. This also included African Libya, Spain, North America, Greenland, Scandinavia (northern), the northern part of existing Russia, where its southern border ran along Ladoga, Dmitrovskaya ridge, South Ural, northern Baikal, Magadan. Seven capitals of the confederations were located on the territory of Russia: in Chukotka, in Yakutia (at the mouth of the Aldan), near Norilsk (Lake Lama), in the Urals, Yamal, Pechora, Valdai. The Chronicle of the Teachers of the East contains the names of all the rulers of Atlantis, and in it, as an important event, it is mentioned that the emperor of Atlantis Tatslav was given by a divine messenger from heaven a fragment of a miraculous stone, which was a functional accessory of the centers of the cultural state, civilization.
Emperor Tatslava was buried in Taimyr, and the stone was later transported south to the storehouse. The governance of Atlantis was just and wholesome. Arts and sciences flourished. The rulers, using their secret knowledge, have achieved truly extraordinary results. The disc of the Sun was the only emblem worthy of depicting the head of the Deity, and this image was found in every home. The Atlanteans had a written language.
