In their Scriptures. OK, people who believe in the truth of the Scriptures have at least reason to believe that man is the crown of creation. God told them so. But often the same is said by those who do not believe in the Scriptures, or in God in general. True, they slightly alter this phrase and it sounds like "the crown of nature".
But let's try to find out if this is really the case. Does a person deserve this high title. If so, how?
Hereinafter, I ask you to perceive the expression "crown of creation" as it suits you, the main thing is the essence.
First, let's find out what kind of person is the crown of creation. Every? I highly doubt it. Look at these members of our species.
These are clearly not the crowns of creation. They aren't even on the top rungs. That is, this expression definitely does not apply to all members of our species. Then to whom? To our species in general? OK, let's take a look at the achievements of this creation and try to find in them what makes us the crown of creation.
Money. Perhaps the greatest human invention. Great and … dirty. It was they who gave birth to Power. Money and power. This is what we came up with. On a planet that is equally capable of providing all the seven billion of our species with all the necessities, we have invented money and power that divided people into rich and poor, into very rich and poor, into millionaires and those who die of hunger. The most interesting thing is that even God could not cope with it and He even had to set the rules for how we manage our money. Doesn't this seem strange to you? God points out to people how to dispose of what they come up with to their detriment.
The weapon of murder. Another brilliant invention of mankind. Think of inventing a means capable of killing oneself-like at a distance and leaving unpunished. Many may argue that the weapon is intended for self-defense. Bullshit! Those who keep weapons at home for self-defense are the same people who do not wear seat belts while driving. And then, from self-defense from whom? From a self-like one who has exactly the same weapon?

This is our job. Ours is the crown of creation.
Necrophilia. This is the peak of dignified conduct for the crown of creation. Reveal the one who just died. How do you like this? Animals don't do that. A rat does a lot of nasty things, but it will never have sex with a dead rat. It wouldn't even occur to her. What kind of life should the crown of creation lead to think of this? Just think about it.

We can argue for a long time about which music is the most beautiful, but we will never argue about which is more beautiful - the sound of the sea or the sounds of the forest. Yes, we can compose beautiful music, but when we hear birds singing, we want to quickly turn off what the crown of creation composed and listen to what was not composed by the crowns.
Painting. We can draw. No living creature can portray the beauty of nature so beautifully. This is worth boasting to other creations and consider yourself a crown. How is it. Let's not forget that a person learned to draw as soon as he appeared. He, even being primitive, scratched drawings on the walls of caves. Scratched as best he could. It is not surprising that over 150 thousand years, he learned to do it more or less beautifully than he did at the beginning. But does this make us the crown of creation? Considering that not everyone can draw, and only a few can draw beautifully, it is unlikely.
Thoughts. We know how to think. And we are so complacent that we confidently believe that no one else can do this. An orangutan can sit for hours and gaze into the distance … think. “His thoughts lead nowhere! It doesn't develop! Not progressing! Well, maybe by looking at us and seeing the result of our progress, he is much smarter not to mess with all this? About this in the next paragraph of our achievements.
The science. Progress … Oh yeah. We are great inventors. We have learned to turn our planet inside out in order to get energy. We look for it underground, while it is full on the outside. The sun, wind, rivers are sources of energy, which would be quite enough for the life support of the crown of creation. We even have a magnetic field - a very powerful source of energy, which we have not yet learned how to use. We prefer to consume the planet's reserves. And you know what's curious? Those who do the same to us, we call a cool word - cancer. Cancer is a disease that eats us up, despite the fact that it is WE who give it a habitat. How do you feel about the bacteria that live on your body, will drill your skin and extract your blood from you? You will call them pests. A disease to get rid of. So WE are the cancer of this planet. We are the same diseasewhich the planet will soon get rid of. Moreover, we are a very rapidly progressing disease. Out of 14 billion years, we have been here for only some 150 thousand. And look what we do with her. We are like fleas on the body of this planet. We live on it and suck its blood. So don't be surprised if soon she just shakes us all off her.
So, answer my question, if we are the crowns of creation, the crowns of nature, the best creatures, then what gives us the right to reward ourselves with such a title? How did the person deserve it? And why are we better than penguins? Why aren't they the crowns of creation? Or swans. Why aren't they the crowns of creation? Why are they worse than us?
So far, I see only one explanation for all this. We are self-righteous egoists. We ourselves invented a title for ourselves - the crown of creation. It makes us think of ourselves better. Makes you feel important. But this is self-deception. This is a myth invented by people to increase their own self-esteem. "I'm in charge here!" Fuck that! I disagree with that.
PS: Let's say the theory of evolution works. That is, we were once tadpoles living in the water, which later got out of it, learned to walk on our hind limbs and began to call ourselves the crowns of creation. Sorry, but when we were tadpoles, we didn't even imagine that we would ever become human. So why do we now decide that evolution has stopped at us? Why not assume that we are just another step in evolution, and the moment will come when we will become something else. Hopefully the next species will be smarter than us. At least enough so as not to reward yourself with the title Crown of Creation.
