Gonzalo Montoya Jiménez, a 29-year-old man serving a prison sentence in Spain, was pronounced dead by three doctors, but strangely revived during an autopsy procedure.

After Jimenez failed to appear at roll call on January 7, the prison guards began searching for him, quickly finding him in his cell. The prisoner serving time for robbery apparently died while sitting on a chair and fell from it, lying dead on the floor beside him.

The guards called a doctor and after examining the body, the body was placed in an airtight plastic burial bag, after which it was sent to the hospital for an autopsy in order to establish the cause of death.

Jimenez was taken to the pathologists, examined, transported to the morgue and placed in the refrigerator. When it was his turn, he was laid on the breakout table, where the team of doctors began the autopsy procedure.

Before the total dissection of the chest with coarse instruments, pathologists made several outlining incisions with a scalpel. And at that moment the pathologists noticed that the cold, blue, numb dead man showed signs of life. He began to breathe and wheeze intensely.

“I cannot comment on what happened at the Institute of Forensic Medicine,” a spokesman for the Spanish Prison Service told the media. “THREE doctors found and documented all the clinical signs of death! At the moment, no one understands how it all happened."

Officials at the hospital where the autopsy was performed tell local newspapers that the person's false death may be the result of catalepsy. This is a condition in which the heart contracts imperceptibly, the body becomes rigid and the patient loses consciousness, showing all the signs of death. This may be due to the epilepsy Jimenez was reported to have suffered from.

Jimenez is currently in the intensive care unit at the Institute of Legal Medicine in Oviedo. His condition is stable. He is conscious and actively talking to his family. However, the cause of the incident is unknown to anyone.

A similar incident occurred during the 2014 Ebola outbreak. The burial team was trying to place one of the victims of the disease in a plastic bag when the body began to show signs of life. Everything was even recorded on video cameras by the ABC team, the cameramen of Good Morning America.

However, in this case, the situation is completely different: Jimenez was placed in a funeral bag, in a refrigerator, where he was kept for several days. His death was recorded by three medical experts. Therefore, no one knows what it might be. The terrified local press writes about the beginning of the zombie epidemic.
