Such statements on the air of the British radio station were made by Edgar Mitchell, one of the most famous American astronauts and scientists. He was part of the Apollo 14 expedition in 1969, landed on the moon. Together with Alan Sheppard, he walked on its surface for 9 hours - this is a kind of record. Mitchell has written dozens of papers on astrophysics. He speaks of aliens in all seriousness.
“They are really very similar to how they are portrayed in the movies. Short, thin, with big eyes and heads. They are much more technologically advanced than we are. If they wanted, they would have destroyed us long ago. The government has been hiding all this - for 60 years already. But I know, I was connected with the military and intelligence. In general, a lot of interesting things will be revealed soon,”predicts Edgar Mitchell.
After an interview with Mitchell, journalists immediately contacted British ufologists. Their reaction was predictable: “This is a real sensation! Dr. Mitchell is a wonderful scientist, astronaut, doctor of sciences, hero of America, and if he talks about such things, then you need to listen!"
However, the US aerospace agency was skeptical of Mitchell's statements. Here is a quote from NASA's statement: “We are not engaged in UFO searches and are not involved in any alien conspiracy theories. Dr. Mitchell is a great American, but we don't share his views on aliens."
The theory that governments are hiding the facts of alien visits to Earth has been around for a long time. And footage of American surgeons and the military performing an autopsy on an alien who was allegedly found in the New Mexico desert at the helm of a crashed spaceship has been shown on television for several decades.
