Without any exaggeration, the Minoan civilization is considered among scientists the most poorly studied and mysterious civilization of all previously known. Although it is one of a kind, unlike anyone else, much less is known about it than about any other European civilization.
Fewer articles are written about the Minoan civilization than about the Roman or Greek civilizations. But it would be a mistake to leave the Minoans somewhere aside.
Specialists working on Minoan history and culture note that perhaps with the scant information that is shown now, they are trying to prove that the Minoan civilization has family ties with the ancient Greek civilization. There is, of course, a subtle connection, only it is not unambiguous.
The commonality can undoubtedly be found in the architecture of the ancient Greeks and Minoans. Minoan architecture is older than ancient Greek, therefore it is considered its founder - the surviving architectural monuments confirm such parallels. For example, the houses of wealthy dignitaries at the time when the Minoan civilization and then the ancient Greek ruled, had many medium-sized rooms and only one - large (at this period, such rooms are called living rooms).
Now it is impossible to imagine the appearance of the living room of the Minoans living at that distant time, since the drawings and ornaments inside the rooms have hardly survived. It is possible to decide what the Minoan civilization was only by one element - special columns built in the form of a square near the walls of the Minoan living room.
How the mysterious existence of the Minoan civilization ended is also a big mystery. Some think that the Minoan civilization disappeared after the Durian warriors attacked the island. Greek civilization at this fateful time for the Minoans, the ancient Greek civilization was still in its infancy.
