This nugget was born in 1911 in London, in the Salvation Army's orphanage. Soon he was left without parents: his mother abandoned her son and went to look for a better life, and his father went to the front, and no one else saw him. The boy was taken up by his grandmother. Leslie grew up in terrible poverty, sometimes he had to dine only on dry biscuits and sour jam.
At the age of 8, the boy first realized that he was not like everyone else. Then Flint saw the figure of his uncle in Grandma's kitchen. It would seem, what's wrong with that? Never mind. Just by that time, my uncle had long been in the best of worlds. Then the boy began to imagine voices that no one but him heard. They sounded whenever and wherever - in the classroom, during a movie show, before going to bed. However, Leslie was afraid to tell others about the voices: they would still think that he was not himself!
In his youth, Flint tried many professions. He was a gardener, a cashier at a cinema, a bartender and even a gravedigger. But most of all he liked to dance. He successfully passed the certification exam for private lessons. Perhaps, over time, ballroom dancing would become the work of his life, if it were not an accident: one of his students, a certain Edith Mundine, confessed to the teacher that she was attending a spiritualistic circle.
The girl did not even know how much Leslie was interested in this message. Of course, at the first opportunity, he went with her to the session. There he finally realized: the spiritualistic abilities that he is endowed with from above are not something reprehensible. Moreover, Flint decided to demonstrate them in public. And it was a resounding success! Edith Mundine invited him to open his own spiritualist circle. She never doubted for a minute that Leslie would gain real fame in this field. Edith volunteered to help Flint, and their collaboration eventually ended in a wedding.

In 1935, the medium Leslie Flint made his first public appearance. This was followed by other performances - in hotel rooms, in theaters, in unfamiliar houses, in churches. Edith was right: the fame of her husband reached incredible heights. Both ordinary people and celebrities burst into his sessions. Among them are British actor, producer and director Leslie Howard, composer, singer and actor Ivor Novello, Archbishop of Canterbury Cosmo Lang. Even the royal family did not hesitate to invite Flint to Kensington Palace.
But that's what it is! The stars who had gone to another world seemed to want to communicate only with Leslie Flint. It began with the fact that once a resident of Munich wrote to a medium, the actor and dancer Rudolf Valentino came into contact with her and expressed a desire to communicate with Flint. Leslie agreed, and Valentino spoke to him in his native Italian. Then more and more outstanding personalities, who had passed away, got in touch.
Marilyn Monroe confessed to him that she was not going to commit suicide. Fryderyk Chopin said that he writes music in the next world. Flint received such information, as a rule, in the presence of numerous witnesses. Despite this, he was constantly accused of fraud. To prove otherwise, the medium never refused to act as a guinea pig. What experiments have not been put on it! In his autobiography, Voices in the Dark, Flint describes how he was "shoved in a box, tied up, sealed, but voices still appeared to convey their message of eternal life."
Psychic News, February 14, 1948, details an experiment in which Flint's mouth was sealed with a band-aid, a handkerchief was tied, and his hands were tied to a chair. Despite all the tricks, the spirits got in touch, and they spoke in their lifetime voices. What all twelve people in the room heard was enough to convince the most inveterate skeptic.
Dr. Louis Yong, who has exposed more than one fraudulent medium in the United States, filled Flint's mouth with tinted water so that the medium could not utter a sound. But this did not prevent the spirits from getting in touch.
Scientists just shrugged their shoulders: well, this cannot be! Flint is probably a talented ventriloquist? However, this was also ruled out, since it was about the original voice of the deceased, which his friends and family could not fail to recognize. The microphone hidden in the room was further evidence that Flint conducted his conversations even when the speech was not recorded on tape.
In the end, Flint became bitterly disenchanted with experimentation and experimenters. “Having decided to participate in the experiments,” he recalled, “I naively believed that researchers would tell the whole world the truth about life after death. However, I realized very quickly that many of them have their own unshakable convictions that exclude belief in … the possibility of life after death. The only expert who fully vouched for the authenticity of Flint's abilities was William Ben-net, professor of electrical engineering at Columbia University in New York …
… And then one day Flint decided: he has had enough! And since then he has performed solely for his own pleasure. Thousands of voices of spirits, speaking in different languages, including the dead, were recorded on tape - "for the next generations". Records have tried to investigate more than once, but to this day it is unclear how voices from the other world reach us. Leslie took this secret with him to the next world in April 1994.
