Recently I read an interesting thought: from the point of view of psychology, the so-called. "Internal dialogue" is a very useful thing. No, we do not take extreme cases when voices in the head begin to dictate to a person the order of actions, up to jumping from a roof or hunting for their own kind.

Psychologists say that internal conversation helps to concentrate, weigh the pros and cons, consider the situation from all sides.

“It's nice to talk to an intelligent person,” they joke in such cases. But it’s true: who, if not you, will tell you how to act in this or that case. The interlocutor is not available, try to talk about the problem.

The voiced fear ceases to be such, the nightmare situation no longer seems hopeless. If you cannot talk, conduct an internal conversation, psychologists are convinced.

From the same source, I learned that numerous practices based on meditation and detachment give people the wrong advice. The first thing that gurus teach is to free the mind from unnecessary information, to stop the running of thoughts that are constantly spinning in the head. So who's right, really. Psychologists believe that internal dialogue helps to solve problems, yoga, on the contrary - the voice of consciousness must be drowned out.

I think that in their own way, both are right. It depends on what goals we are pursuing. If you need a brainstorming session, but there is no interlocutor in the vicinity, then you can reason within yourself in different ways.

But the concept of esotericists is closer to me: if you want to know the truth, let your mind go free. Drown out the ever-angry, aching and groaning voice inside. Feel the Universal emptiness, let the sounds of the Cosmos into your head.

The internal "race" of thoughts hinders me personally. Illumination and flashes of Knowledge come when the head is free from everyday problems. The fewer thoughts and words swarming in the silence of Consciousness, the easier it is to hear the correct answer to the question posed.

Moreover, everyone can talk about themselves, but making the inner monologue subside is not an easy task. Try a simple exercise: sit comfortably, close your eyes. What do you feel inside yourself, there, under the closed eyelids? Just about, all sorts of thoughts instantly start crowding in my head, they are not just hustled chaotically, they sound. It's as if you are not reading aloud, but to yourself, only without a book. Internal dialogue is easy, and internal silence is a great effort.

Your consciousness immediately responds to external stimuli: a car drove by, a door slammed in the entrance. Every movement of the world around is accompanied by your comments. When you don’t think about it, you don’t seem to notice, but try to concentrate, as everything starts to interfere and annoy.

How many times have you tried to fall asleep in the night, unsuccessfully fighting insomnia. I think this problem is familiar to everyone. But no, until you get rid of all your daily thoughts and worries, you will not be able to fully fall asleep.

Stopping the internal dialogue provides almost unlimited possibilities. You start to hear voices from outside.

But here it is important not to overdo it. Voices can also be different. Including the very destructive ones mentioned above.

Free from fetters and blinders, Consciousness, like a sponge, absorbs information coming from space.

When I manage to stop the annoying monologue inside, I enjoy. For example, I hear great, enchanting music. I'm sure she's not in THIS world. I don’t know, maybe it hasn’t been written yet, and the composer who will invent it hasn’t been born. But these sounds are available to me. Sometimes you can catch a distant whisper. Most often it is illegible. It rolls from somewhere far away, like the sound of the surf. If I listen to music without fear, then, having barely caught the sounds of voices, I immediately stop meditation. While I'm afraid to listen to what is said in the distance.

Once I made up my mind. It was a strange feeling. The voices sounded closer and closer. I suddenly heard distinctly that someone spoke inside me. In fact, I got scared, and I quickly pulled myself out of the trance, without even having time to really hear the words.

I shared my impressions of what I heard with a colleague. Marya, for a long time practiced such travels into the unknown. A friend warned me that such experiments are dangerous. You never know whose voice I hear, and whose will decides to take over my consciousness.

From her, I learned how, with the help of a disabled internal dialogue, you can expand the boundaries of your Universe, travel through other spaces. A colleague was struck by my story about music, she complained that she had never heard anything like it. Marya said that most likely I hear the very "cosmic" music of the Higher Spheres, and this is a very good sign. I am on the right path of self-improvement and knowledge.

When I turn off the internal dialogue and turn off my consciousness, I begin to see bright and amazing pictures that arise under closed eyelids. Landscapes of extraordinary beauty, strange landscapes that hardly exist on the surface of the Earth. There is a feeling of lightness, flight, and all-encompassing joy, which is so difficult to get in the real world.

Experienced hikers and yogis knowingly warn beginners about the dangers that lie in wait along the way. The first time you stop your own thoughts for a long time, you are overwhelmed by euphoria. It can be roughly compared to the lack of oxygen at high altitude, or the warmth felt by a person freezing in the snow. You no longer want to go out into the real world. It is boring, gray, uninteresting. You are looking forward to when the time for meditation comes, to throw off the burden of day's worries, to plunge into the world of illusions. But is it so illusory, this parallel world, is it so fantastic?

With the help of special exercises, having achieved full immersion, you can experience not only emotions, both tactile sensations and olfactory sensations remain available. In my case, it is an aggravation of hearing. Therefore, the question of whether it is worth stopping the running of thoughts, I will leave open. Everyone decides for himself: to believe in the benefit of meditation or to consider himself the best advisor.
