Have you ever felt that one of your relatives or acquaintances would soon die, and after a while the premonition was confirmed? Or maybe it happened that you just thought about someone's imminent death, and then found that the thought turned out to be true? Maybe this is a hidden, innate ability of every person?

I can feel death. Eyewitness Maria

This happened to me for the first time in 1986, when I was 19 years old. I went to my cousin's birthday party. There I felt something unpleasant. I could smell death, how it smells, I cannot describe. I can't even tell if this smell is pleasant or not. However, all the time I was visiting, I felt that my nostrils were freezing, as if the frost was outside.

Among the guests was my cousin's best friend, 23-year-old Maxim. He had a disease - a stomach ulcer. We all know that people rarely die from this disease; you can live with it to a ripe old age.

That holiday dinner did not bring me joy. I did not take my eyes off Maxim all evening. It was crazy, but I was convinced that he did not have long to live. He ate and drank and had fun, but I felt that he smelled of death.

Five days later, Maxim was taken by an ambulance with an aggravation. The doctors were unable to save the guy.

Since then, the same thing happened to me four times. A strange premonition, an incomprehensible smell, death …

Experts' opinions

There is evidence that some animals, especially cats, can sense death. Researchers talked about an interesting case. At that moment, when a cat was dying in a closed room, her male, who at that moment, was several kilometers away from her, began to scream, look around and throw himself at people, as if he knew that his “girlfriend” was dying. This was not the cry that cats usually make.

How do vultures and hyenas detect dying animals? Many scientists believe that a dying organism sends a signal before death that not everyone can feel. But how you can catch these signals, scientists do not yet know.

Dr. Morton Lieberman of Preitzker Medical School began looking for and studying these signals after talking to a nurse. She claimed that she was able to predict the death of her patients, "they begin to behave not like living."

The experiment lasted for one year. Lieberman offered special tests to eighty men and women between the ages of 85 and 90 who did not suffer from serious illnesses. Half of them died within a year. Dr. Lieberman compared the test results of the deceased and those who remained alive. The test results showed that those who died within one year had very low levels of adaptability to reality and also less energy. For example, the deceased performed poorly on so-called cognitive function tests, and they were less prone to introspection.

People who will soon depart to another world, says Lieberman, avoid introspection, they also lack persistence and aggression, they are more submissive and dependent on others in comparison with other people. Finally, thirty-two out of forty dead in one year showed awareness, but only on a subconscious level, that they would soon die.

The nurse, who interested Lieberman, was able to notice changes in mood and behavior in the patient's condition. How she notices this, she cannot explain.

What about the young and healthy who die suddenly?

Doctors William Green and Arthur Moss from New York, studied medical histories of people who died suddenly. Their results show that 80 percent of these people experienced depression 2-5 months before death. Scientists claim that depression can be caused by hormonal changes, as it prepares the brain to accept death.
