Astrophysical scientists have found the source of the fast radio pulses, which were thought to be alien signals. With the help of the ATCA radio telescope, astronomers determined the distance to the place where the signals come from, and found an answer to the question of whether they were sent by aliens.
Fast radio-burst (FRB) bursts have long been considered an attempt by alien races to contact the inhabitants of Earth, but recent studies by Australian scientists cast doubt on this assumption. According to astrophysicists, judging by the distance to the source of the signals, these may be radio pulses arising from the merger of neural stars in a galaxy located 6 billion light years from our planet. This is stated in an article in the journal Nature.
Not alien, but cosmological origin of the flares is confirmed by a detailed study of one of them in December 2015. Then it turned out that, judging by the polarization of the signal, it comes from a neural star or as a result of the formation of other superdense clumps of matter, like a black hole.
A more accurate answer was given by a group of scientists from Australia led by Evan Keane from Swinburne University of Technology. Thanks to the ATCA radio telescope, the distance to the FRB 150418 flash was determined most accurately. It turned out that it originated 6 billion light years from Earth in an elliptical galaxy in one of the most powerful neural stars.
This outburst is several times higher than the glow of the Sun from our solar system, it has eclipsed its entire galaxy. The strength of the phenomenon of flares and the great distance from our planet allowed scientists to finally discard the alien versions of the origin of radio radiation.
