Even the most rational and sane person, no, no, and will look into the column with the astrological forecast for a week or a month. Scrolling through, sometimes, hundreds of sites, and suddenly your gaze falls on a catchy headline, broadcasting something like "Find out what awaits your zodiac sign in the near future." The hand itself reaches out to click on the corresponding link. It is the same with free newspapers or thick glossy magazines, the last pages of which usually contain a forecast for the coming months.

Sometimes, while waiting for my turn to see the master in the salon, I take old magazines and deliberately open this very last page. It is especially interesting to read the forecast if it is, say, a year old. And so, whiling away the time before the longed-for procedure, you begin to rewind the tape of your own memory. And what did I have last year about this time? What does the horoscope say about this? So, but it looks very similar.

No, friends, do not think, I am not so empty-headed as to sincerely believe these predictions. I just put on a kind of experiment and train my memory. So I am once again convinced that any, even the smartest person is trying to stretch the threads of correspondence between events that are absolutely unrelated to each other.

Due to the nature of the profession, I know a lot about astrological forecasts. And the most important knowledge is that the division according to the signs of the zodiac, which is professed by most of the inhabitants, is, to put it mildly, inaccurate. Professional astrologers say that the real sign is the one in which the Sun was at the time of your birth. The conditional frames from such and such a number to such and such, which divide us into Sagittarius, Aquarius, Capricorns and other mythical creatures, are adopted exclusively for the popularization of astrology. This is a simplified version, the purpose of which is entertainment. It has no scientific basis. Suitable only for dating at a party: “And you, excuse me, who is the zodiac sign? Probably Pisces. They are such sensual and sincere people. I just see the vibes of femininity emanating from you. Well, other vanilla nonsense, which is so customary to powder the brains of gullible ladies. Non-binding flirting or trying to claim something more.

In such cases, I immediately dot the "Y". I explain to the unlucky boyfriends that my sensuality and femininity has nothing to do with Pisces. I am a Sagittarius, and a real one. At the time of my birth, the Sun was in this sign of the zodiac. Real and genuine - arrogant, sarcastic and cynical. Femininity and sensuality are the result of skillful use of modern cosmetic products.

All this complex astrological "cuisine" was told to me by one close acquaintance who, with my light hand, once enrolled in the school of astrology. And not just astrology, but scientific. Now she knows everything about the stars: she will calculate the date of your birth to the nearest minute. And it is she who strongly advises not to read Soviet newspapers (crossed out) - general horoscopes compiled for the amusement of the public.

So how do predictions work, and why are they read anyway, even by such inveterate cynics and clever people as me? It's simple. The peculiarity of perception brings us down. Human consciousness is so structured that it is ready to cling to any correspondences and draw parallels even where there are none.

Let's say you are reading the forecast for your sign for the next week. And not only you. Another ten or twenty hundred people are studying the same horoscope simultaneously with you. You can't say that all Sagittarius or Gemini are the same, right. So how does the forecast match. One is rich and drives his own car, the other does not know how to make it to his salary. And the horoscope predicts a quick enrichment. Really, both Capricorns will receive a million in one day! So all the money on the planet will not be enough. Don't worry, nobody gets anything. And in this case, the forecast will be safely forgotten! Yes, you will throw it out of your memory, like throwing a check from a store into the trash can. But, note: if the management suddenly writes out a bonus, you will instantly link the payment to the forecast read last week. Now we understandhow it works? As soon as something meets our expectations, we immediately write it down and then tell our friends that the predictions come true. If nothing happens, the person happily forgets what he was promised in the weekly horoscope.

Believe me, this rule also applies to bad forecasts. If a misfortune occurs, which was vaguely mentioned in the forecast, our brain instantly turns on the generator of cause-and-effect relationships. We begin to painfully think: "But I was warned, I read in the horoscope, I had to act differently." A familiar situation, isn't it? When nothing happens, good or bad, the forecast fades into the background, and you don't even remember about it.

And one more point - our consciousness loves to think out and finish painting a picture. Read the forecasts carefully: they are not specific. Some streamlined, cautious phrases, general words, devoid of specific and clear forms. The rest is done by our brain. We “write” our grievances, worries and hopes on top of the forecast, try the situation on ourselves.

Someone says that this is how we program our future for success or, conversely, failure. Maybe so. Or we can say in another way: each of us sees only what he wants and hears what is beneficial and interesting. Think about it. As the saying goes, it is not difficult to deceive someone who is ready to deceive himself.

Closing our eyes to the real picture of the world, we do not see the obvious inconsistencies that are in every forecast. I will return to what I already wrote above - how can ALL people on the planet, born on the same day, be the same? Even if you were born at the same minute, one of you lives in Africa, the other on one-sixth of the land, how can you have a general forecast for a week, month or year. Where is the logic, friends !?

Think about this the next time you try on a newspaper forecast for your own life!
