The personal subsidiary farm of the Orekhovs' family numbers about two thousand geese. Alexander Ivanovich and Vera Vasilievna have been growing this poultry for the fourth year.

And everything would be fine, but the other day their bird was twice attacked by not quite ordinary animals, similar to dogs, which strangled geese and sucked their blood.

Alexander Orekhov, owner of a personal subsidiary farm: “They are much larger than ordinary domestic dogs, differ in weight, size and aggressiveness. Their strength is very great. They got into sheds, farms, breaking walls and fences, tore metal nets."

In 2012, these animals kept the residents of Ershovka at bay throughout the summer. But no matter how hard the villagers tried to protect their farms and save livestock and poultry, their efforts were in vain. More than 500 heads were mercilessly killed by wild unknown animals.

Sergey Zhuravlev, a resident of the village of Ershovka, director of LLC “Selhozservice”: “I can say that I myself have seen them more than once, 10 by 10 cm. These are serious animals and their jaws are such that from ear to ear. There are small individuals, but they also pose a danger, because they have no nutritional base, so they go for pets. And there will be attacks on people as well, in other regions there have already been. So the question is very serious, the authorities must definitely think about it."

On the night before, the farm of the Orekhovs' family was attacked twice, as a result of which more than fifty geese died. Despite the fact that the summer flocks, which contain geese, are under the vigilant supervision of the watchman with a pitchfork in his hands. Wild animals quickly swept across the territory of the farm, grabbing geese on their way and biting their heads.

Vera Orekhova, owner of a personal subsidiary farm: “They only drink blood and just choke. They just grab the head, the whole body is whole, they probably fall into the carotid artery, and the gosling immediately falls down and that's it. They don't eat them, they just kill them."

On close inspection of the killed bird, two marks on the head from the canines of dogs are clearly visible. Some have just broken necks. There is no other damage on the dead carcasses. The first raid of wild dogs on the goose farm of the Orekhov family took place three weeks earlier. Then 76 heads were killed. After the attack of killer dogs, the killed bird was examined by a veterinarian. But her conclusion was consistent with everything that happened: the geese died as a result of bites from wild dogs.

Natalya Kozlova, veterinarian: “Well, if wild dogs taste the blood, they will come to this place until the last moment and kill the bird. They don't eat them, they drink blood. Blood is pure protein, and protein is energy, because of this they live."

In 2012, residents of the rural settlement organized night shifts, but they did not give much result. Wild animals continued to attack the village. The villagers believe that dogs are not wolves, they are not afraid of humans and boldly enter the territory of the settlement.

Vera Orekhova, owner of a personal subsidiary farm: “They are leaving the trash can. When you go up the mountain you can see that they are walking 15-20 dogs, there are a lot of them."

The villagers do not exclude the possibility that there was a mutation with wolves. And as you know, the wolf is an intelligent animal. The Orekhovs family today is unable to protect their farm from the attack of these wild animals.

Alexander Orekhov, owner of a personal subsidiary farm: “We are constantly guarding here, we provided lighting. But we cannot do anything, because shooting in the village is prohibited. The law is not on our side. And catching an intelligent dog is not realistic, setting loops and traps is useless.

As it turned out, the administration of the Vyatskopolyansky district, to which the Ershov rural settlement belongs, knows about this problem, but cannot change the situation in any way.

Nevertheless, the residents of Ershovka, left to fend for themselves, are looking for ways to solve this problem, since they understand well that no one, except themselves, can protect their farms from the invasion of wild killer dogs.
