In 1618, Dionisio Minagio, who was the chief gardener of the state of Milan, created a book with 113 images of Lombardy birds as the main theme from 156 images. But he illustrated it in an unusual way: he made his pictures from feathers.
Beaks, legs, and bits of skin accentuated the images.
It contains funny scenes from everyday life: a patient suffering from a dentist or a person thoughtfully playing the pipe and waiting for his dog while she is busy with important business; musicians, artisans and actors - comedians of del'Arte.
Today we do not have the slightest idea why he created such an unusual book for all times, it can be assumed that this project could have been ordered by the governor.
