Many people remember Brett Ratner's film "The Family Man", the main character of which (played by Nicolas Cage) suddenly wakes up in a world where he has another job, another home, and other friends. He even had a family and children whom he had never seen before. Spaniard Lerin Garcia sadly says that no one understands the hero of the film as well as she does. After all, the same thing happened to her.

In the early morning of July 2008, a 41-year-old Spanish woman woke up in her and at the same time someone else's bed: the bed linen was of a different color. Lerin would not dwell on this, but minor inconsistencies literally crawled into her eyes: the pajamas were not the ones she lay in, the wardrobe was not quite in its place, instead of the usual clock, there was some unfamiliar alarm clock on the night table. Some familiar things have disappeared altogether.
Further more. The company, thank God, was in its place and Lerin had the same position, only the department "moved" to another wing. Returning home, Lerin found a boyfriend in her kitchen, with whom she had long parted. The man, as if nothing had happened, cooked dinner for the two of them and acted as if there had never been a difficult parting for both of them.
No wonder the woman went into hysterics. Sister Lerin, summoned by the man, came urgently. However, her arrival did not bring relief. The scar on the sister's shoulder - the visitor had no memory of the operation: “What scar? From what operation?”- the sister was surprised. Lerin turned out to be not only the wrong present, but also the wrong past.
The woman went to the doctors, passed all possible tests for alcohol, drugs, medications, but doctors did not find any traces of the first, second or third in her body. The psychiatrist tried to explain what happened as the body's response to stress. “What stress ?! Everything was just great for me! Work, friends, lover - and suddenly everything disappeared somewhere!"
The hired detectives were looking for the person with whom Lerin had lived in the last months before the strange incident. The woman hoped to restore the old relationship with her lover. Even if he forgot her or never knew her, perhaps love will flare up again? Alas, her beloved did not exist in this world. Very different people lived in his apartment, an unfamiliar male voice answered the phone call, his parents had completely different children.

After 5 months, Lerin resigned herself to what had happened, stopped considering everything as a stupid prank or conspiracy. She got acquainted with her “new past” and for seven years has been trying to live in new realities.
“I really want, but no longer hope to return to my world. I'm not trying to convince anyone that my past life was not what they imagine. Much is familiar to me here, but still foreign. I just got used to what happened. I often think about my double, that second Lerin Garcia, with whom we switched places.
