Surely many of us visit churches, temples, prayer houses, believe in the One God. Surely, many have special respect for the great woman, captured on countless images and icons, revered in different religions and confessions, whose name is Mary. Unfortunately, today we do not know anything about who this woman was, what her fate was, and few people guess what exactly her high spiritual feat is. We have already devoted articles to her, analytical publications in the section "The Most Holy Theotokos", and today I would like to cite a new series of photographs that directly indicate the presence in Christian images, icons of the Virgin of the sign consisting of a circle and a crescent, which is known to many today as a sign AllatRa (we also have our own analytics about it in more detail).
So, let's look at the icons, where for clarity, I slightly outlined a circle and a crescent. Just as the cult of the goddess Isis held out in human society for quite a long time, using great reverence among people, and by the way, as we remember, over the head of Isis there was a completely identical sign (photo on the right), so the Mother of God carried through Christianity in many of her images of the same symbolic combination - a circle and a crescent. Thanks to the AllatRa book, today we have the opportunity to get an explanation for this for the first time, having acquired a new and rather logical, I must say, understanding.
And if the display of a circle is like a halo is quite understandable from the point of view of a religious concept, then it is completely incomprehensible how, guided by some inner inspiration, the icon painters weaved the symbol of the crescent into the plots - folds of fabric, cover, bowl, clouds, wings divorced hands (although they rather refer to a symbol of spiritual liberation, which we will certainly write about soon). Therefore, taking this opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to these amazing people for the fact that they managed in this way through the millennia to carry the creative power emanating from God, expressed in the working sign itself. I am sure that we still have to make a lot of discoveries in the field of physics to understand the essence contained in it. Well, for those to whom our next proofs seem unconvincing again, I have nothing more to say.
