It has long been known that our solar system consists of a central star - the Sun and nine planets orbiting around it. These are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
Moreover, one of them, Venus, rotates in the opposite direction to other planets.
There is another interesting pattern. In the 18th century, I. D. Tizius and I. E. Bode established that the distance of the planets from the Sun, measured in segments equal to the distance from the Sun to the Earth (the so-called astronomical unit), is a geometric profession.
If all nine planets are numbered in a certain way, then their distance from the Sun in astronomical units will obey a strange formula - the Titi-usa-Bode rule: 0.4 + 0.3 x 2n, where n is the ordinal number of the planet.
Thanks to this rule, astronomers, already at a later time, were able to first calculate and then find the planets farthest from the Sun, in particular Uranus. But one of the orbits on which the planet should have been (between Mars and Jupiter) turned out to be empty.
Perhaps this would continue to be considered an exception to the Titius-Bode rule, but with the development of optics and astronomy, thanks to more advanced and powerful telescopes, astronomers were able to detect a mass of asteroids of different sizes in the supposed orbit.

Now let's remember the legend. The sun god Helios had a son - Phaethon. He was very fond of horses and once begged his father to allow him to drive his fiery chariot. But this chariot could only be controlled by Helios himself. Phaethon could not cope with the fiery horses and came too close to Earth. Fire could incinerate all living things on Earth, and Zeus, in order to save the Earth from catastrophe, destroyed the chariot with a lightning strike. Phaeton was killed.
Beautiful fairy tale. But is its plot really so fabulous? We have already repeatedly made sure that many legends, tales, myths have a real basis under them, that is, the events they described in one way or another really took place. Probably the same thing happened this time.
Some astronomers have suggested that once the orbits of Phaethon and some huge celestial body - a planet or a comet - crossed. As a result, a powerful explosion occurred and Phaeton, having turned into a mass of debris, ceased to exist.
One of the versions is that 11542 years ago a huge comet "visited" the solar system. It was also established that Phaeton also died at about the same time.
By the way, if we tie these facts together, we can trace the connection between the tragedy of Phaethon and the terrible earthly cataclysm that occurred at about the same time. I mean the death of Atlantis, the Flood, the change in the tilt of the Earth's axis, the death of dinosaurs, and not only them.
