An elderly resident of Guangxi Zhuang District, in the south-west of China, lay in a coffin for about six days. But just before the funeral, she got up from the coffin and went to the kitchen … to eat.
The former deceased, Li Xiufen lived in her home in Beilu City, according to the Shanghai Daily. Due to his advanced age and lack of loved ones, the elderly woman was looked after by her neighbor Chen Qingwang. One day, Chen went to check on a woman and found Li lying on the bed with no signs of life. The woman did not breathe, and the body, as it seemed to the neighbor, had already begun to cool down.
The neighbors had no choice but to order the coffin, and when the Domina was ready, Chen and his son placed an old woman in it. A funeral date was set. But what was Chen's horror when, on the eve of the funeral, he went to a neighbor's house and found an empty coffin.
