Quite a lot is already being said about electric lighting of the past, different versions and assumptions sound not only in the blogs of alternative seekers, but also from the lips of more or less eminent scientists, mainly Egyptologists. After all, it is still not clear how the ancient Egyptians managed to make bas-reliefs in the semi-darkness of the tomb and nevertheless not leave a single trace of soot from a torch or fire on the walls. Also a mystery, but quite understandable from the official point of view, remains the fact that there is no soot from candles on the ceilings of palaces, in particular the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg. The explanation is very simple - every time after the ball specially trained Russian men must wear bast shoes and sheepskin coats, like those monkeys, climbed under the ceiling and scrubbed off soot and fumes. Another version is more believable - that during restoration,when the ceiling was whitewashed there was already electric lighting, the burn was simply painted over and there was no such problem anymore.
But here's what's interesting. I found old engravings that depict "funny fireworks" or "funny lights" - a kind of show performance for the royal family, with illumination and fantastic special effects. In one word, you need to see it.
And yes, I believe that soon we will also be able to repeat this technology, as Tesla did. As for me, on these engravings, you can clearly see the induction circuit for the wireless transmission of energy at a distance. In 1775, Catherine II decided to celebrate the conclusion of the extremely beneficial Kyuchuk-Kainardzhi peace with Turkey. According to the drawings of the great Vasily Bazhenov, the field was planned in the form of the shores of the Black Sea. Illumination is a fairly old phenomenon. So, they were still during the reign of Catherine I (1725-1727). The illumination at that time consisted of burning barrels filled with straw or brushwood; or simply lit heaps of resin or brushwood. Lanterns, scales, bowls were also used. To illuminate the houses, candles were lit in front of allegorical paintings, which were inserted into the windows.
Now we carefully examine the fireworks and illumination of the 18th century, which appeared immediately after the alleged flood of 1700. Immediately I want to draw your attention to how the "balls" at the top of the obelisks and spiers, which Piranesi repeatedly draws, glow.
