A person can achieve immortality in this century, scientists believe. The successes of medical and biological science achieved during the period of explosive development of genetics, microbiology and artificial cultivation of organs from stem cells are capable of supporting the life of a biological organism for as long as necessary.
This idea was expressed in the report of the Peruvian professor Santos Bruzo at the International Gerontology Symposium in Cairo in January 2017. The results of the latest research and discoveries indicate that the first immortal people could theoretically appear already in this century. A hundred years ago, modern technology would have caused fear among the inhabitants of the planet. However, despite the explosive progress of technology, one outcome awaits each person - death.
The problem of death is the most ancient topic of discussion in society. As soon as writing appeared, they began to create treatises on death, scientific and religious, charlatan and pseudo-positivist. The theme of death runs through world literature, philosophy, theater and cinema. The culture of all world civilizations was formed around the Thanatos cult. Professor Santos Bruzo believes that in the near future the problem of the eternal biological life of homosapiens will be solved at the scientific level, but the Peruvian scientist does not believe in the spiritual immortality of the individual as a set of social relations. - People are morally tired of living, - says the gerontologist, - the endless prolongation of a person's existence is the most sophisticated violence against a person.
