The former commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Yugoslavia openly announced a meeting with an unknown aerial object. General Zvonimir Yuryevich headed the 172nd Aviation Regiment in the capital of Montenegro Titograd, renamed Podgorica. His first acquaintance with an unusual object capable of changing colors occurred on a regular flight in January 1975.

“The object looked like a luminous ball, which was 10 times brighter than any star. Its color was constantly changing. It became white, yellow, light red, orange and white again,”- this is how the general described an object that suddenly appeared out of nowhere, which, it seemed to him, deliberately attracted attention.

Oddly enough, but a bright UFO began to appear exactly 50 minutes after the aircraft took off. After several pilots noticed the strange ball, General Yuryevich made the decision on January 25, 1975 to try to intercept the stranger.

As expected, the UFO appeared 50 minutes after takeoff, when the commander's plane was in the city of Cetinje. The general followed him, but as soon as he came closer, the mysterious object disappeared.

The unsuccessful contact attempt forced the general to develop an interception plan: the first to rise into the sky are two aircraft of his regiment, a little later, two more sides take off from another airfield and surround the object from all sides. All pilots were ordered to keep radio silence in case of radio interception.

“I was just stabilizing the flight somewhere over Cetinje when the object suddenly flashed over Budva. Lieutenant Maczek saw him over Niksic, the general ordered Machek to stay where he was, while he headed parallel to the Adriatic coast to try to get closer to the object, the distance to which, according to his estimate, was about 10 kilometers.

“However, he would not let me get close. I reduced my speed - the distance remained the same. I increased the speed, but between us were the same ten kilometers."

General Yuryevich believes that the incident in the skies over Yugoslavia will remain a mystery, which, in all likelihood, will never be resolved.
