Experts have spent more than two years to study the lakes hidden deep in the caves of the Croatian National Park in Dalmatia. Among the finds, scientists have discovered four new species of beetles and cave salamanders.
Experts managed to find out that almost all found and studied animals do not have eyes. They use scent and tactile sensations for orientation in space. Also, specialists managed to find a unique transparent snail.
Researchers will continue to study the depths of the lakes located in the caves of the Croatian National Park in Dalmatia. Experts believe that it is definitely necessary to continue to study the flora of this region, since scientists are confident that they will be able to find many more animal species.
It is worth noting that in these territories of Croatia it was possible to meet a huge variety of different species of animals before, but scientists believed that almost everything had already been studied. But it turned out that in the depths of the cave lakes there are still unknown places that are inhabited by unusual and previously unknown representatives of the flora.
