Jyoti was born on December 16, 1993 in Nagpur, which is located in Central India. According to her mother, Ranjana, the girl was of normal height until the age of five. Later, it became noticeable that some kind of disorder was hindering her growth. It was subsequently revealed that she has achondroplasia and will never grow above a certain height.
The first rays of glory
From the age of four, Jyoti went to school with ordinary-sized children. But she was provided with a desk and chair more suited to her tiny stature. For the first time she attracted the attention of the whole world back in 2009. The local TV channel Fuji Bikkuri Chojin 100 Special released the show, the girl was measured by doctors.
She was only 61.95 cm (2 feet) tall, which was confirmed. This confirmed that she is the smallest teenager living in the world. For 16 years, Jyoti gained only 4 kg.
But it was already noticeable that she was a bright and artistic, cheerful person. Like many teenage girls, she was fond of fashion and makeup, and dreamed of becoming an actress. Indeed, her size and extraordinary character began to open her way into show business.

The recognition of the GWR (Guinness Book of Records) has played a huge role in combating any self-doubt that she experienced along the way. Jyoti felt popular, special and important. In fact, her success story was just beginning. December 16, 2011 she turned 18 years old, she received the title of a living woman of the smallest stature.
It was measured by Consultant Podiatrist Dr. Manoj Pahukar at Wockhardt Specialty Hospital in her hometown of Nagpur, and the process was supervised by GWR Judge Rob Molloy.
Like all record holders of an unusual size, it was measured in Jyoti at different times of the day, and then the average was calculated. This process was necessary to obtain objective data, because the compression of the spine causes fluctuations in body growth within 24 hours.
She was officially found to be 62.8cm tall, making her slightly shorter than the previous record holder at 69cm (2'3 ”).
Jyoti's dreams come true
In the first moment of fame, Jyoti spoke of her desire to visit other countries and appear in films. America was on her wish list too. Fortunately, all these dreams have come true.
Jyoti is now a recognized member of the global GWR family. She traveled abroad and photographed with other record holders, including Chandra Bahadur Dangi, the shortest man ever at 54.6 cm. Indeed, when she met Chandra, she was finally able to look down at someone.
They were brought together to celebrate the release of Guinness World Records 2013. This historic event marked the first time in history that the world's shortest men and women met. In 2013, Jyoti flew to New York, where GWR's Mike Janela had the privilege of being her guide. The diminutive lady attracted crowds wherever she went.
Jyoti becomes an actress
Meanwhile, Jyoti has already begun realizing her ambitions to become a movie star. In 2012, she was a guest on Bigg Boss, the popular Indian reality show Big Brother. In 2014, she signed a contract to play the role of Ma Petit in the fourth season of the popular American TV series American Horror Story. Jyoti is determined and, undoubtedly, the best turns of her career are still ahead.
