As a result of a strong drop in the level of the Volga, the inhabitants of Kazan saw an old pavement running along the bottom of the Kazanka River. The townspeople find there artifacts from different eras, someone has already started "archaeological" research with metal detectors in their hands. Kazan residents post photos of the finds on social networks.
As explained to "RG" Kazan ethnographer Leonid Abramov, this road was built in the XIX century. It connected the old pier of the city of Bakaldu, located in the Admiralty Sloboda, and the center of Kazan.
According to the historian, this is not the first time the road has been exposed. In the summer of 2010, due to the abnormal heat, the river has already dried up in this place.

Bakaldinskaya pier was built in the middle of the 16th century. She was located near the Zilantov Monastery, five miles from Kazan. The pier got its name from the Tatar word "bakildau" ("croak").

In 1849, the construction of the Admiralty Dam was completed in Kazan. It connected the center of Kazan with the Admiralteyskaya Sloboda, and later the Novomoskovsky tract - and with the mouth of the Kazanka.
