In Soviet times, scientists vehemently denied the existence of paranormal phenomena and anomalies. And even more so, they did not recognize the fact that real devilry could take place on the territory of their country.
However, no matter how they deny it all, the eyewitnesses cannot be fooled. Today we will publish for you several stories from the times of the USSR, from which it becomes clear that even in the USSR, something incomprehensible was happening.

The devil dries the gold on his tail
By Georgy Vladimirovich Kozlov from Moscow. He sent this letter to the USSR Academy of Sciences back in 1978, but never received any explanation in return.
“In the month of September I went with several of my friends to the village to visit my mother. She lived in the village of Lobanovka, Chirikovsky district, in the Mogilev region. Our help was needed for the master's business, so I took my comrades with me.
Late in the evening we decided to go outside with the guys to smoke before bed. It was then that we saw Something, because of which I am writing to you at the Academy of Sciences. It was exactly disc-shaped, perfectly round. We never made out whether it was spinning or just hanging in the air. Then this flying object began to maneuver sharply from side to side, leaving a small trail behind it. It felt like the aircraft had a tail.

One of ours then said: "The devil is drying the gold on its tail." These words still do not leave my head. We thought it was some kind of alien ship. But they did not become afraid. Closer to the ground, the device did not approach, and we felt safe. Then the damn ship made a few more turns around my mother's house and flew away.
The next day we went to ask our neighbors who else had seen this flying anomaly. But absolutely everyone looked at us as if we were idiots and told us not to tell them nonsense."
Undead in the attic
Sent to the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1981 by Lotyrev Evgeny Afanasievich. The answer from scientists was also not given.
“This story happened to me as a child. In 1950 we moved to live in my grandmother's house after she died. Parents were hard-working people, so they spent a lot of time at work, because at that time all good people were busy trying to quickly rebuild the country from the ruins that remained after the war. Already at the age of 6, I understood this perfectly, so I did not even dare to take offense at mom and dad. Moreover, with the move I got a whole house for new research.
And so, in August, when my parents were not at home, I decided to check what was in the attic of my grandmother's house. For a long time I was afraid to climb there, but that day I was full of self-confidence.
When I was already near the attic door, I heard voices. However, I could not make out a single word of what these "people" said. Then I gathered my will into a fist and opened the door to see what was happening with my own eyes. In the attic there were 3 creatures talking about something. But when I opened the door, they immediately turned to me and began to walk quickly in my direction. Before rolling down the stairs in fear, I managed to notice that they had hooves instead of legs, they were much taller than my mom and dad, and instead of a nose they had noses resembling pigs.
After that, I ran to my room, crawled under the covers and waited for my parents. I never climbed into the attic again.
Since then, I have never told this story to anyone. And so, after my friend wrote his own paranormal story to the Academy of Sciences, I also decided to write to you. I hope you will answer me too in two weeks, as well as my friend. I really look forward to an explanation of what is happening from knowledgeable people."
Poltergeist chased away by ritual
Pokrovskaya Anna Fyodorovna writes to the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1982. Scientists sent the following answer: “There is no poltergeist. Look for things from your neighbors."
“A very strange story happened to my family a few years ago. We just moved from the city to the village of Spinka, Zhukovsky district. It is located in the Bryansk region. We moved from the regional capital of Bryansk. We moved to the village because of my work. My husband also managed to find a job in Spinka according to his profile.
We agreed with our old acquaintances to exchange a house for a large three-room apartment practically in the city center. A few weeks later, we arranged a move. After we brought the last box to our new home, we decided to celebrate this event and walked to the center of the village. Of course, before leaving, we carefully checked that all windows and doors were closed.
This is where very strange things began to happen. When we got home, we found one box missing. She was with books. We were very surprised. The fact is that our house had only one neighbor, and that was our old family friend. At the same time, the owners of the house were equipping their new apartment. And, most importantly, all doors and windows were locked.
Then my husband and I walked across the brow and asked people if anyone had seen a man with a box. But no one noticed anything like that.
Then my husband and I decided to change the locks and check if the theft would happen again. And now, literally the very next morning, another box disappeared from the house. This time with photographs and children's things. The windows and doors were in perfect order.
This went on for several days. Every morning we lost a box. On the last day, we became so scared that my husband decided to nail all the windows and doors from the inside with nails. Imagine our surprise when the next day a whole bed disappeared from the house! But at the same time, all the boards with which the house was hammered remained in place.
We talked about this with our neighbor, and he advised us to conduct a special ritual in the forest that will help drive out the evil spirits. And finally, after this ritual, in the performance of which the same neighbor helped us, the disappearance from the house stopped.
I would be glad if academicians can give a clear answer why such a strange event happened to our family. I myself did not believe in paranormal powers before. But how can you not start to believe in them?"
