Primorsky Krai, the regional center of Dalnegorsk in the 80s of the last century, this small town turned into a real mecca for ufologists, researchers of paranormal phenomena, world-famous scientists.
Even self-taught enthusiasts came here, hoping to get an answer to the only question: "What happened in the vicinity of Dalnegorsk in the winter of 1986?"
Mount Izvestkovaya, also known as "height 611", is a hill on the outskirts of the city. Here on January 29, 1986, a mysterious event took place, witnessed by hundreds of local residents. In the evening sky, as if from nowhere, a huge luminous ball appeared, for several seconds the fiery sphere hung motionless, and then rushed to the ground.
Some of the eyewitnesses shouted: “Look! The moon is falling! However, having reached the surface of the earth, the ball bounced, rose again into the sky and collapsed to the top of the hill.
A dull thump was heard, the whole neighborhood was illuminated with a cold, intolerably bright light. The glow was observed for several hours, after which it slowly extinguished.
The next day, a special commission from the Academy of Sciences arrived in Dalnegorsk. At the scene, metal objects of unknown origin were found, some of them were melted balls with numerous holes, others looked like scraps of fiber woven from the finest metal threads.
During the research, it was found that the material found consists of iron, chromium, nickel and manganese.

The Dalnegorsk anomaly became that rare case when scientists managed to find material confirmation of unexplained phenomena. But what really happened on that distant evening in the sky over the city? Over the past 25 years since the explosion, researchers have not found an answer to this question.
