Naturally, if you turn off all the servers around the world, then immortality will disappear. But imagine that our consciousness is like a chain - it is distributed everywhere and it can be restored from anywhere in the world via the Internet. Let's say there is a standalone program that does this.
All we need is to digitize our consciousness to every bit - and run the program - and our mind will be transferred to the virtual and at the same time real world.
